Show Richard J. Evans and Frank H. Lathrop of this city have purchased the properties of the Wasatch Wa-satch Mining company, which are located about ten miles southwesterly from Lewiston, in tho same locality as the Majestic. The group consists of three claims and two millsites and was some little time since incorporated into a company capitalized capi-talized for a quarter of a million dollars, and the developments thus far have been so encouraging that there is more than a fighting chance of the recent purchasers putting it among the big producers pro-ducers of the district. The purchasers have let a contract and crosscutting has been commenced at the bottom of the main shaft, which has attained at-tained a depth of about 90 feet, and good values have been encountered in open cuts run across the ledge in surface workings. The ledge reveals a width of over forty feet in a number of places and shows up good values in gold and copper, and silver and lead are also found in pockets throughout through-out tho workings. Assays as high as $300 in gold and 16 per cent copper have been obtained from picked samples, while a general average of the values contained in the ledge show good smelter returns certain with depth and development. |
