Show FOR DEMOCRATS. There is a mighty struggle to draw away enousjbjqpublicans from their, , UckpJ; to give the state of Utah over to the Democracy. It is under such circumstances only fair to give all Democrats notice that all that is prosperous pros-perous In the business of Utah, except in a very few mines, is due to the Republican policies that have prevailed here. Without them there would have been no profitable markets for wool or sheep. No lead-silver mines, outside the Silver King, would be working and half its profits would have been cut off, for it would have cost just as much to work it as it now costs. There would never have been a sugar factory and the products of the land now devoted to raising beets would have come into direct competition with the several products pro-ducts of the farmer; with the work in the lead-silver lead-silver mines shut off, the market for all supplies would have been contracted; furnaces for copper ores wo.uld have been all the furnaces needed. With these changes the Co-op would have been sufficient to supply Salt Lake. Democrats may be anxious to see the triumph of their ticket, but some of them ought to be able to estimate what a complete Democratic triumph would bring them. With very many of them the triumph would last only a few hours, but the reality would be on them next morning. This ought to be a good, time to think the matter mat-ter over. |
