Show 'A Fossil's Journey' Filmed On GSENM To Air Oct.16 By Marietta Eaton On Thursday, Oct. 23, at 9 p.m., KUED (Channel 7) will televise "A Fossil's Journey". The documentary will be a firsthand first-hand look at how paleontologists paleontolo-gists gather the information they need to reconstruct the lost world of the dinosaurs. Crews of the Utah Museum of Natural History, led by world famous paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson, have been working on Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument for the last three years. Many amazing discoveries have been made, including several sev-eral new species of dinosaurs. Footage of the excavations of remains of these prehistoric giants, filmed right here in Kane and Garfield counties, will be (See FOSSILS on page 7A) Fossils From Page 6A featured in the show, as will a behind-the-scenes look at how scientists study such treasures. Fossils from other public lands will also be featured. The Kaiparowits Plateau within the Monument is yielding a wealth of information on what the earth was like 65-95 million years ago and the monument has taken its place as one of the premier places in the world to study the age of dinosaurs as it drew to an end.
