The Primary children sang two songs for Mother's Day, followed by talks by' LaVera Moss and Marva Fletcher. I They all paid tribute to their mothers moth-ers and the mothers in the ward 1 were each given a potted plant as a ! gift- Kyla Clark had her baby son J blessed in LDS sacrament meeting by his grandfather Stephen Clark. He was given the name of Stetson Mackintosh. Attending for the special event were Ron Mackintosh, Mackin-tosh, Gene and MaryEtta Chynoweth and grandson Conner, Danny and Kasey Chynoweth, Clint and Stephanie Brinkerhoff, and sons Landyn and Austyn, Derrick Der-rick and Sherel Clark and children ShayLynn, Shandon, Shantae, and Shaycee; Gordon and Sharon and Lindsay Pollock, Steve, Verjean and Sheena Clark, and Kim, Jerrilee and Jade Adams. All of the guests attended a special dinner in the cul tural hall following the meeting. Life is never boring according to Rita Hammer. Arriving for a visit of undetermined duration was Joy Platter and her four children, Raleigh, Ral-eigh, Ammon, Ethan, and Quin-ten Platter from Olympia, Wash. Husband Hus-band Jason Platter is on assignment assign-ment in Reno, Nev., for his company. com-pany. After years of working and managing home and family, Joy felt that in Cannonville with her parents was the best place to rest and recuperate, that is, she felt that way until she heard the disappointment disap-pointment in Jason's voice when she told him that she wanted to stay longer than the planned two weeks. After less than a week, she made a quick run to Reno with the children to spend a few days with Jason. Accompanying Joy to help with the driving and care for the children was her sister Lila Hammer of Woodland, Wash. Unfortunately, Lila had to get back to work and arrangements ar-rangements had been made to meet brother Jacob Hammer in Rexburg so the two could drive together to Washington. Their plans didn't work out so a quick trip to Burley was made by Rita Hammer and Cathy Fletcher to connect Lila and Jacob. Joe and Rae Hughes went to St. George and visited relatives. On May 8, LDS Bishop Larry Fletcher performed the marriage of his son-in-law Hernan Gajardo to Carla Workman of Sandy. The Fletcher family had a lovely wedding wed-ding party to honor the bride and groom. Clement and Marie Brod-erick Brod-erick of St. George were also guests at the wedding. John Morreale is visiting family members in California this week. At the state convention, Kay Dunham and her son, Mathew were chosen to be on the self; determination team as a family and self-advocacy. The team of four will train families in Garfield, Kane and Beaver Counties. The project will conclude in November. - |
