Klancy Ott graduated from the Peace Officers Standard of Training (POST) Academy in Salt Lake City on Aug. 27. He has been training for ten weeks and is now employed at the Garfield County Jail as a deputy. Those who traveled to his graduation grad-uation were his wife, Sami, son Kage; parents Kowan and Melanie Ott, sister Charlee Ott and father and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Cheryl Pollock. We congratulate you Klancy for achieving this goal but we hope you and your family will not have to move to Panguitch. We don't want to lose you from our town and Cannonville LDS Ward. Gerald and Dawn Stock kept a medical appointment on the 26th in Panguitch and visited with their daughter, Kathy Julander and family. , Launa West came to spend the weekend with her parents, Howard and Dorothy Leavitt. She brought her sister-in-law, Annette Leavitt who is the wife of eldest son, Howard Jr. Their daughter, Kelly Lee, also came from Panguitch and spent a day with her parents. Rita Hammer and her daughter, daugh-ter, Cathy, went to Orem on the 27th for an appointment with Cathy's doctor. A.C. and Rita Hammer spent Monday in Cedar City on business. Speakers in Cannonville LDS Ward Sacrament meeting on Sunday were Joe Thompson and his father, George W. Thompson. A musical number, "I Am a Child of God" was sung by Grandpa George, Joe, Trish, Daniel, Rosa Lee and McKay Thompson, accompanied by Daniel. Cannonville LDS Ward Relief Society Enrichment night was held Wednesday evening with an interesting display of new and old handiwork: quilts, crocheted and knitted work. Also classes in sewing, quilting, knitting and hair cutting were offered. There were 20 sisters in attendance. Jacob and Tamra Moss, Raphael Morreale, Daniel Thompson and Rosa Lee Thompson, Rusty Rich and Cole Twitchell are all enrolled in Southern Utah University in Cedar City. David Mathews is at Utah Valley State College. Christina Labrum is here with her new baby, Aloria, spending some time with her parents, John and Ramona Morreale. She had some health problems and needed help to care for the baby and John and Ramona have proved that they are qualified quali-fied for the positions. Her husband hus-band will be coming to take her home in a few days. Mae, Vaughn, Arjean and Cherlynn Twitchell drove to Breckenridge, Colo, to attend the wedding of a granddaughter, Tanya Munford, the daughter of Karl and Lori Munford of Cedar City. She became the bride of Dave Miller of Breckenridge. Family members who also attended were Doug and Tammy Twitchell and family; Craig and Lee Twitchell and of course, the bride's parents, Karl and Lori. Mae said it was held at a beautiful beauti-ful mountain lodge, surrounded by Lodgepole Pines. They enjoyed being there and the scenic sce-nic area, but it was a long drive home. |
