Show By Mayall Sawyer 735-4207 Denni Weideman, Beth Weodeman's granddaughter from Las Vegas, went on her first horseback ride. Dallis Barnhurst and Dave Barnhurst led her through the hills surrounding sur-rounding the town for two hours. She had some sore spots, but now she wants ahorse for Christmas. Austin and Marie Barnhurst's grandson and his wife, Terry a nd Carolyn Scott of Nevada, dropped by on their way to Colorado. Also staying with the Barnhursts ate friends Don and Peggy Lyons. They will enjoy the local scenery and festivals. Thora Riggs Proctor, 90, of Cedar City is here. She's plan- . ning a ride through Proctor Canyon with Reva Alexander and Ray and Alana Burrows. Gala Syphus was up from Las Vegas staying at her home here. Nancy and Tom Waren had new windows installed in their home. Tom said it has made a noticeable difference in the heating and cooling at their place. An artist from the Maynard Dixon Museum in Orderville is here painting a pciture of Myrtle Robinson's home and Ruth Wilson's old shed. Charlotte, Will, Jeremy, Veronica and Vernon Lane of Page, Ariz., spent the night with Ruth Wilson. The following day they drove up to Provo to drop off Vernon where he is attending trade school. Dodee and John Brooks are here from California. They're working on their home and garage. May Sawyer returned home Friday evening. She has been in Yellowstone and Eciador for six weeks. She went to Yellowstone with Kurt and Phyllis Sawyer and their family. Then they took her to Idaho Falls, Ida., to meet Kent and Ivonne Sawyer and family and they took a plane to Ecuador. She said it's good to be home. Visiting with Carla and LaVal Sawyer over the weekend were Lance and Donette Sawyer and Emma Rae Humphries of LaVerkin, and a large crowd of Donette's family. County fair participants from Hatch fared well, winning sweepstakes ribbons on gardening garden-ing products and canned goods, a special award on needlework and pop art. There were all ages from here involved, young children chil-dren to seniors making an admirable effort by entering their work. Jerry ad Dolores Riggs are here attending to the landscaping landscap-ing of their home. Thanks to Maria Oman, Julie Barnhurst, Beth Allred and especially Cassie Mack for their help in writing the column while I was in Ecuador. Mern and Clare Reber had their annual golfing party with about 20 friends to help them enjoy the day. Nelda and Gary Fagg of Las Vegas are here to do a little roofing roof-ing repair and get their home ready for winter.Jason and Adrea Barney had their wedding reception on Friday. Joining them were Ryan and Kara Barney, Jeff Barney, Mark and McKell Barney. Barbara Dalton and Alberto Vasquez of Garfield Memorial Hospital attended meetings in St. George on hazardous materials materi-als and biochemicals. Jim Ness, Bobbie Ness, and Sarah Ness of Las Vegas spent three days with Dennis and Barbara Dalton. LaMar and Dorothy Barney had Janell Duckett of Page, Ariz., and a friend from California visit them for a few days. Cody Baldwin of Las Vegas brought his children up to see Dennis and Barbara Dalton for a couple days: Zack, Dakota, Erika, and Makayla Baldwin. Mack Alba and family of Las Vegas visited with Barbara aaaand Dennis Dalton. Don and Deanna Heap are new grandparents their 22nd grandchild. Brant and Cassie Heap of Cedar City have a new baby boy. Deanna is in Cedar City helping for a few days. Jerry and Delores Riggs of St. George were here working on their new home the past week. Visiting with Pat and Mary Lou McAllester were Martin and Peggy Arterburn of St. George. Dallen and Beverly Sawyer of Cedar City visited friends and family over the weekend. Dunk and Alleen Larsen of Provo visited here with family for a few davs. Carolyn Doughty flew to Georgia to be with Char while she had her baby. Clark and Char are the proud parents of a baby boy. Mr. and Mrs. Abe Fausin and children of St. George were at their cabin last week. Terry Perkins and Stephanie Weideman of Las Vegas, Nev. visited with Grandma Beth Weideman and Ruth Wilson on. Saturday. Marilyn Heap was sustained as the new Hatch LDS Ward Primary president with new counselors Jill Walter and, Julie Barnhurst. Annie Eldredge was sustained as the new Young Womens president at church on Sunday. Her counselors are Lucinda Josie and Maria Oman. Deana Heap was sustained as the new Relief Society president and her counselors are Terry Barney and Lorna Barnhurst. Word was received that Omega Riggs Campbell died at her daughter's home in St. George. A graveside service was held on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Garth Heap died on Aug. 31 at Garfield Memorial Hospital Long Term Care facility in Panguitch. His funeral was held Saturday at the Hatch chapel. Darwin Shakespear of Tropic visited with May Sawyer on Wednesday. Clifton and Kerry Sawyer of Ogden were here at their trailer. They visited family. Clifton, Kerry and May Sawyer went to Otter Creek and Pine Lake. They caught their limit of fish at Pine Lake. Kerry and Elaine Sawyer held their annual Mutton Fry at Castle Valley. May Sawyer and Brandon Dix of Hatch were there. Valeene Roberts of Antimony stayed with May Sawyer Sunday evening. Darol and Beth Allred and May Sawyer went fishing at Pine Lake on Wednesday and were home by noon. Brandon Dix returned to Cedar City. Steven Dix went over and brought him home. Brandon has been to Texas visiting visit-ing family. Susann Jorgenson with USU Extension gave a lecture on home canning and food storage on Wednesday at Relief Society. Leland and Adell Riggs are in Alaska with Kaarl and Bonnie Saxon of Las Vegas, Nev. |
