Show Nida Mae Howard Jensen PANGUITCH Nida Mae Howard Jensen, 70, of Panguitch, passed away Mar. 19, 2000, at her home in Panguitch. She was born May 1, 1929, in Huntington, to Byron Anderson and Nida Grange Howard, the youngest of nine children. chil-dren. She married Douglas Blaine Jensen, May 1, 1948, in Huntington. Hunting-ton. Nida Mae spent her childhood in Huntington. She attended the University Uni-versity of Utah. She worked 31 years for Utah Job Service, Panguitch Pan-guitch office, where she retired as manager. Nida Mae taught all that she met love and the importance of family. She opened her heart and home to many friends and family, helping raise several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Douglas of Panguitch; children, Nida Diane (John) Houston, Hous-ton, Panguitch; Catherine Mae (Eugene) Anderson, Centerville; brothers, Kent (Jenece) Howard, Elko, Nev; Willis (Helen) Howard, Arimo, Ida.; seven grandchildren: Eric (Tamara) Houston, Erin Houston, Hous-ton, Nate Houston, Jennifer Anderson, Ander-son, Jared Anderson, LaCee Anderson, Ander-son, LaRee Anderson; two greatgrandchildren: great-grandchildren: Sicily Houston, Indi- Nellie Iittlefield Bailey ESCALANTE Nellie Little-field Little-field Bailey, 96, of Escalante, passed away Mar. 19, 2000, in Panguitch. She was born June 5, 1903, in Wilford, Ida., to Edwin and Martha Jane Smith Littlefield. She spent her childhood in Hen-rieville. Hen-rieville. She married Clive D. Bailey, Bai-ley, Mar. 17, 1930, in Kingston. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, Sept. 9, 1962. Nellie was the oldest living resident of Escalante. She was very active and was always willing to go places with friends and family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was also an avid baker and sewed many rug rags. She is survived by her three daughters, Connie (Alfred) Jepson, Boulder, Carrie (Cecil) Griffin; and Martha (James) Schow, both of Escalante; 11 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Iletta Robbins and Beth Baxter, both of Orem. She is preceded in death by parents; par-ents; husband, Clive; an infant son; a daughter, Vera; brothers and sisters: sis-ters: Dora Henderson, Maude Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Eva Heaps, Vera Littlefield, Gayle Reynolds, and James Reynolds; Rey-nolds; grandchildren: Neoma Bald- Idella Mangtim Cheney Idella Mangum Cheney, 89, died Thursday, Mar. 16, 2000 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. She was born June 28, 1910 in Circleville, to Martin Alfred Mangum and Ida Gass. She married Roy Jackman. They were later divorced. She married Thomas J. Cheney on July 10, 1982 in Panguitch. Idella was raised and educated in Circleville. She lived for several years in southern California where, during WWI, she worked for Lockheed. She also lived in Goodyear, Ariz, during WW II where she worked on B29's. Idella was a hard worker and had raised her family by herself. She later moved to Phoenix, Ariz, where she lived for 15 years before retiring to Henderson, Nev. in 1975. Following a period of residency in Panguitch, she moved to Parowan. Idella and Tom had a winter home in Littlefield, Ariz. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Mar. 22, 2000 in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Panguitch Cemetery. Ceme-tery. Funeral directors: Neal S. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Mar. 23, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the Escalante 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had worked for the Visitor's Ceijter in Panguitch for a number of years. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and tatting, which is a lost art. She had been President of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for several years. Idella is survived by her husband, Tom; children: Idonna Lay of Waddcll, Ariz.; Martin (Betty) Jackman of Temple City, Calif.; Les (Paula) Jackman of Peoria, Ariz.; sisters: Emma Raburn of Milford, Ore.; and Donna Johnson of Panguitch; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: Ross L. Jackman. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 18, in the Circleville City Cemetery in Circleville. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard . Mortuary, St. George. |
