Show Venuti Trial Date Set For June 17 ST. GEORGE A trial date has been set for an Escalante man charged with 15 felony counts involving securities.. What is expected to be a 10-day 10-day trial is slated to begin June 17 for Frank P. Venuti, 53, charged with-1 1 counts of securities secu-rities fraud, one count of racketeering, racket-eering, two counts of theft, all 2nd degree felonies; and one count of unregistered securities, a 3rd degree felony. The trial will be held in Fifth District Court before Judge James Shumate who also presided at Venuti 's preliminary hearing Oct. 15, 2001 at which time he was bound over for trial. A pre-trial hearing is set for May 29. Prosecuting is Assistant Attorney General E. Neal Gunnarson, Murray. Representing Repre-senting Venuti is James Park, The Park Firm, Cedar City and St. George. |
