Show I Cannonvillc News 1 By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Don and Louise Mangum spent this week at the St. George LDS Temple. Vaughn Twitchell is also working there. Leon Fletcher spent a day here visiting his parents, Larry and Glenna Fletcher, then went to Twin Falls, ID to check out a job offer. Mae Twitchell and daughter Ar-jean Ar-jean went to St. George where Mae underwent cataract surgery on her eye. Granddaughter Cherlyn Twitchell Twit-chell spent the weekend here with her family. Gloria Clark went to Salt Lake with Klyn and Nancy Chynoweth to take their son, Klinton to the Missionary Training Center for his LDS mission to Scotland. Klinton is Gloria's grandson. Checked in with Bob and Mira Loy Ott to find out about their Golden Wedding celebration and she said, "It just, slipped up on us." Their kids had remembered it but they hadn't. She said the family has planned a family dinner to' be held Saturday at Bob Joe and Randa's Pizza Place. The guest list included the families of Bob Joe and Randa, Tropic; Valen and Robyn Ott from Louisiana and Robyn's mother, Ruth Chew, St. George; Stacie and Angie Ott and David and Kerry Barney all of Bakersfield, CA; Kowan and Melanie Ott, Can-nonville Can-nonville and Lawrence and Tammy Aposhian of West Valley City. Bob Ott expressed thanks for his sons, grandsons, friends and neighbors neigh-bors who came and helped him move the cattle this year. On the drive, Bob's horse slipped and fell on him. Mira Loy said he is in a lot of pain but there are no broken bones. He is getting around slowly on crutches. Take it easy, Bob. But we hope you will soon be "fit as a fiddle." ' Gil and Shantel Manning have a new little son. He came early so had to spend several extra days in the St. George hospital. Mom Ethel Rich took Shantel and the baby to St. George Thursday for a checkup. Mathew Walker's "Wrap Around" team was awarded a plaque at a recent Disability Conference in Beaver. Team members included Kay Dunham, Tracy Johnson, Col-i Col-i leen Comp, Marie Oman, Joe Coombs, Donnie Douglas, Ruth : Harris and Kim Wilson. The plaque was for his outstanding service serv-ice and as an exemplary student. Congratulations to Mathew and his I team. i Speakers in Cannonville LDS Sacrament meeting Sunday were i Layne LeFevre, High Council representative rep-resentative and Craig Jessen. Youth speaker was McKay Thompson. Thomp-son. Trevor Mathews was ordained a deacon. Cathy Fletcher spent several days in the Provo hospital and is now staying with a friend in Salt Lake City. Glenna Fletcher went to St. George Wednesday, to visit her parents, par-ents, Clement and Marie Broderick. Richard and Delon Fletcher also spent a day there on business. Quinn Willis and daughter, Christine came from Capitol Reef National Park to visit his mother, Bonnie Willis and to help with the roundup and moving of cattle. While the men were busy, Bonnie and Christine went to Antimony to visit the KayMar Willis family. Tuesday evening, KayMar, Mary Jean and Koby stopped on their way home from the ball game and spent a couple of hours with Bonnie. Koby was on one of the teams. Chelsey Thompson, daughter of George and Teresa Thompson was baptized a member of the LDS church on Mar. 16 by her father and was confirmed by her uncle Joseph A. Thompson. Her sister, Micki, gave a talk on baptism and her cousin, MaKay Thompson gave a talk on the Holy Spirit. The Cannonville LDS Ward Relief Re-lief Society Party was well attended and was a special evening for all. The program involved the Young Women and Primary with songs from each group and all enjoyed a delicious dinner. The husbands were also invited. Rosemary Fletcher came and got her mother, Marva Fletcher and they spent several days in Cedar City. They then traveled to Henderson, Hend-erson, Nev., where they visited at the home of Marva' s son and daughter-in-law John and Fonda Fletcher and their son Jack. They were met there by daughter Anna-belle Anna-belle Palmer, who came from Fon-tana, Fon-tana, Calif. It was a great time of visiting and recalling memories and Rosie did a Dutch oven cookout for everyone which was especially delicious. deli-cious. They visited with George and Ada Thompson by phone, as the Thompsons had a prior dinner engagement planned so could not join them. They returned home on Tuesday. Phyllis Beard attended a Cub Scout day camp school for three days at Camp Williams, while husband hus-band Mel visited the grandkids and went shopping. Those from out of town who came for Chelsey's baptism were grandpa and grandma, the E.J. Foremasters and grandma Bea Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Doug and Diane Morrill and Tanya Morrill. |
