Syrett 679-8687 vickidiane36hotmail.com Jacque Slack's mother passed away recently and we want Jacque to know our thoughts and prayers are heartfelt condolences condo-lences are with her. Dee and Dorothy McClellon, their son Bruce and his wife Anna, all from Bountiful, all came to spend a week with Dixie Shakespear and to visit with the Shakespear relatives and friends that Dee knew when he lived in Tropic before moving mov-ing north to Salt Lake City many years ago. Dixie loved going to Boulder with the McClellons. Wally and Audry Scott came from the Salt Lake area to the funeral for Thora Leach and visited vis-ited with Dixie. She said she had a very nice visit with everyone. every-one. Clare and Mary Lee Ramsay, Vance, Jeannene, and Sunny Pollock, Martin and Carla Ramsay, Dennis, Brenda, Cole, and Jaysi Shakespear, and Brett and Triessa Hepworth all traveled trav-eled to American Fork for Taylor Linn Ramsay's baptism on Sept. 28. Taylor Linn was baptized by her father, Wade Ramsay, and confirmed a member mem-ber of the LDS Church by her grandfather Clare Ramsay. Her mother Sheri Linn Ramsay prepared pre-pared a special luncheon for family and friends afterwards. Carl-Thomas Boyd enjoyed a farewell pizza party with his friends . Jarom Johnson of Henrieville, and Dylan and Parker Castagnetto of Tropic, before returning to Kentucky. Grandparents Carl and Mary Miller Boyd took advantage of the drive back to meet their daughter Katherine to visit Nauvoo, III. They were able to visit briefly with Carma and Berdell Barton after staying overnight in an 1840's bed and breakfast. They also attended the Nauvoo Temple and toured the Brigham Young House with Carma Barton as their tour guide. Congratulations to Daren and Stacie Mathews on the birth of their new Jittle daughter Navy. Charlie and Eva Dean Francisco went to Nauvoo, 111., where they had a wonderful time. Their daughter Robin picked them up and took them to Salina to meet cousin George Herman and his wife Lanna, from Centerville. The foursome then traveled on 1-70 to Illinois where they spent 10 days. They went through many of the LDS Temple sessions and toured Nauvoo. They visited with Berdell and Carma Barton, who are now on their way home, and Weldon and Carma Sudweeks. Weldon and Carma Sudweeks used to be residents of Tropic, but moved to St. George a few years ago. On their way home, Charlie, Eva Dean, George, and Lanna were able to attend a special spe-cial session at the Winter Quarter's LDS Temple, where they had to have a special recommend. rec-ommend. Eva Dean said the trip was a lifetime dream and she never thought she would have this wonderful opportunity. They enjoyed every minute they were gone. When they got back in Utah they stopped in Orem to visit grandson, Charles Lloyd Mortensen who is going to Utah Valley State College to become a firefighter. They then met daughter Robin in Salina and she brought them home. LaMar and Ethel LeFevre went to Cedar City to Dale and Olean LeFevre's home to a dinner din-ner party. Also in attendance were Bonnie Willis, John and Jenny LeFevre of Page, Ariz., and the Petersons from Layton. After' the wonderful dinner they all attended "Hello, Charlie Brown" at the Shakespearean Festival at Southern Utah University. LaMar said it was a special treat to have an enjoyable enjoy-able dinner and go to the play. Clare Ramsay reports that they had very special visitors from Waynesville, NC. Ron and Dara Mason and their two Tennessee Walker horses came to visit the family of LDS mis (See TROPIC on page 3A) Tropic News From Page 2A sionary Shanon Pollock. They visited with Clare Ramsay, Vance, Jeannene, and Sunny Pollock and Afton and DelRay Pollock. They all had a nice visit and were glad to hear that Shanon is doing well. Mary Lee Ramsay was with her daughter, Brenda Shakespear in Kanab taking care of Brenda and the family while Brenda was recovering recov-ering from recent surgery. Jacob Pollock was recently baptized and confirmed a member mem-ber of the LDS Church. |
