Show Nighttime Road Closures Set At Bryce Canyon NP Night time road closure are now in effect from 9 p.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday south of the Rainbow gate at Bryce Canyon National Park. The closures include in-clude the roads at the intersection south of the junction to Inspiration and Bryce Points and on the main park road. Work to be performed during the night time closures includes placing culverts, constructing retaining walls and compacting fill. No overnight parking will be permitted beyond the Rainbow gate. Back-country Back-country permit holders will need to make alternate itineraries and parking park-ing arrangements. The night time road closures will be in effect until Nov. 1 or as weather permits. The park will remain open and all visitor services are still available including the Visitor Center, campgrounds, camp-grounds, concessioner operations, park shuttle system, etc. Phase II of the road project began be-gan in mid-August and includes the section of road from the park's northern boundary, south to Farview Point. The work will include in-clude widening lanes and shoulder areas. Chip sealing work began on Friday, Sept. 8 for roadways in the main developed areas, including the Bryce Point parking lot, the road to Bryce Point, the road to Paria and Paria View parking lot, Inspiration point parking lot, Sunset Point paring area, the lodge loop, the general store loop, the north campground camp-ground picnic area, the visitor center cen-ter parking lot and the Fairyland point parking areas. |
