Show She Grabbed My 'Angst9 My letter is no statement of personal defamation to Hubiak. Nor to defend the subject she chose to write her diatribe (Harry Potter, the movie). But, my gosh, Mrs Hubiak, your letter let-ter insulted and nearly slandered your fellow readers of the Garfield County News and completely com-pletely slandered the author and internationally respected Ms. Rowling. It is my guess that you have "far too much time on your hands." But, it is your obvious anger that rings loud and clear in your letter. Are you angry at the story, the author or your neighbors, that by the "drove" have made this one of the most viewed cinemas cin-emas of all time? This is a "story" about childhood fascinations. fascina-tions. There are no "satanic" victors vic-tors over good. I dare say that at some time, in even your own life, you have dreamed a (maybe even more far-fetched) dream and wondered... "where did that come from?" But to insinuate that the author intended for her writing to be of Shakespearian, Holmes (comparisons) or any of the old European writers of which history his-tory is made of sic, is going around the "bend" a bit. But, what really grabs my "angst" Mrs. Hubiak is that your diatribe must be what robbed us of "Tropic News." We want to read a lot more about that real hero in your community who was spotlighted last week, Mrs. Tracy Johnson. Now there is someone who has an effect on young children. Please pardon my poor and layman use of words... I cannot find my thesaurus... now where did that thing run off too.... Oops, it is not a dinosaur, is it! Meanwhile, Mrs. Hubiak, RELAX. Dennis Phillips Lewiston, Idaho Editor's Note: We were happy to honor Tracy Johnson for her very POSITIVE work with children. We cannot "defend" J.K. Rowling as you have done. We believe her impact on America's children is frighteningly NEGATTVE. Our readers have all missed Tropic News. We hope to have a regular regu-lar columnist soon. |
