Show P.WGUITC! UUVJS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com March has shown us both its Lamb side and its Lion side. Now we will have to wait and see how it leaves us to see if the old adage has any validity. John and Pam Yardley are proud to announce the addition of two new grandchildren to their familytree. Noah Yardley Nichols was born Feb. 10 in Cedar City to Trudi and Brian Nichols. He weighed 8 pounds and was 19-12 inches long. This is the Nichols' first child and they are elated to say the least. On Mar. 6, Marissa Mclff was born to Mark and Stacee (Yardley) Mclff and weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and measured 21 inches. She was born on her Grandpa Yardley's birthday, (what a wonderful birthday present). She has an older sister Alexis, and the whole family is excited over the new addition. Grandparents are John and Pam Yardley of Panguitch, Frank and Celestia Nichols of Cedar City, and Kay and Renee Mclff of Richfield. Great-grandparents are Jim and Neucile Yardley( of Panguitch. And I am going to ad my own congratulations to two of my former students. John and Pam recently flew to Seattle for a first-time visit there with their son Luke and his wife Mercedes. Luke is attending attend-ing the University of Washington working on his MBA. They all enjoyed sightseeing, sight-seeing, especially the Space Needle constructed for the 1962 World's Fair which John remembered visiting with his parents - when he was "just a kid". Luke and Mercedes (Sadie) are expecting their first child in May shortly before leaving for Finland for a semester semes-ter abroad experience. I received word that Clarence Cameron who is 1 spending the Winter with his daughter Arlene in Mesa. Ariz., is not getting along too well. His daughter Nancy has gone to Mesa to be with him. We hope is soon well enough to come home with Hazel to spend some more time in our cooler Panguitch summers. The Panguitch 4th LDS Ward held its annual Scouters Banquet Wednesday,Mar. 26. It was a banner night for the Scouting program in the Ward. Six of Scouting's highest awards were presented along with many other important and well-earned awards. Tyler Barney, son of Curtis and Cindy Bamey; Casey Christensen, son of Scott and Joyce Christensen; and Shaun Marshall, son of Steven and Marilyn Marshall all received their Eagle Awards. Tyler also received his On My Honor award as did Geoffery Reynolds, son of Nick and Jewell Reynolds. Jenifer Bremner received the adult On My Honor award. Caleb Holman, son of Kelly and JoAnn Holman and Tyler Martinez, son of Jayleen Martinez received their Arrow of Light award. Panguitch Connection: I received an e-mail from Kenneth Adair who grew up in Panguitch and graduated from Panguitch High School in 1960. He now lives in St. George but spent the last two months in Yuma, Ariz. While attending church, his wife Kenna, in a conversation with other members, mem-bers, gave her name as Adair and Barbara Houston happened to hear her and asked if they were from Panguitch. In the ensuing conversation, Ken learned that Barbara, in her younger days, had dated his older brother Carrol. Ken had another older brother, Ellis, who lost his life in WII. Barbara is now the wife of Art Houston (Class of 1940) and all of these folks (except Kenna) grew up in Panguitch and graduated from Panguitch High School or Garfield High School. |
