LEGAL NOTICE On Nov. 4, 1997, Forest Supervisor Su-pervisor Hugh C. Thompson proposed pro-posed to intitiate additional actions to further improve watershed condi- t - - tions on Boulder Top, Teasdale Ranger District. On Aug. 5, 1997, Thompson signed a Decision Notice No-tice and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Boulder Top Watershed Water-shed and Fisheries Restoration Project. Pro-ject. This Decision was appealed by two organizations and alter an informal disposition meeting with one of the appealants, Supervisor Thompson withdrew a portion of his Decision. In doing so, however, how-ever, Thompson is proposing an additional 8.2 miles of road closure. The additional closures will result in a total of 89 miles of roads closed and 42 miles of road open for motorized use. All roads on Boulder Boul-der Top will remain open for administrative ad-ministrative purposes (law enforcement, en-forcement, fire prevention and suppression, sup-pression, seach and rescure, etc.) The additional 8.2 miles of road closure will not substantially alter the effects to those resources analyzed ana-lyzed and disclosed in the Boulder Top Watershed and Fisheries Restoration Resto-ration Project EA. Supervisor Thompson will let stand the portion of his previous Decision to amend the Forest Plan which changes the emphasis of Management Area 7A (Timber Management) on Boulder Top to 2A (Semiprimitive Recreation) and to construct 5.3 miles of trail. The additional road closures are described in a letter signed by Forest For-est Supervisor Thompson dated Nov. 4, 1997, and the effects analyzed ana-lyzed in the original Environmental Assessment titled "Boulder Top Watershed and Fisheries Restoration Project." Specific comments on the additional road closures and EA will be reviewed before preparing a final decision. When commenting, respondents should provide: 1. Their name, address, and phone number. 2.
