Show Christmas Tree Permits Now Available PANGUITCH "Christmas tree permits were available for purchase pur-chase Nov. 3 on the Powell and Cedar City Ranger Districts of the Dixie National Forest," announced Jeff Bott, West Zone Forester. "To cut a Christmas tree on National Na-tional Forest lands you must have a valid Personal Use Christmas Tree Permit," said Julie Whicker, Information Infor-mation Officer. Whicker explained that the cost of the permit is $5 and that permits and cutting area maps, are available at both the Powell and Cedar City Ranger District offices. Permits for other families was (fpr a total of five permits), but they must have the names and addresses of those people. Personal Use Christmas Tree Permits may not be used to purchase trees for resale. Powell Ranger District permits will be sold from Nov. 3 to Dec. 23 at 225 East Center St., Panguitch, Pan-guitch, UT 84759 (435) 676-8815 for all types of trees. Contact the District office for their hours. The Cedar City Ranger District permits will be sold from Nov. 3 to Dec. 23 at 82 North 100 East, Cedar Ce-dar City, Ut 84720, (435) 865-3200 for all types except ponderosa pine and douglas fir. The cutting area is as indicated on the map, north of Highway 143. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Whicker offered advice to Christmas tree hunters searching fo-that fo-that perfect tree: "Remember to Ujt a friend know where you plan tp go, your route of travel, and the time you expect to return. AlsO, pay close attention to your local weather forecast".
