Show i It's First Place Once Again For Pansuitch Bobettes Drill Team All three Garfield County high school drill teams traveled to Region 15 Drill Team Competition Thursday, Feb. 1 at Southern Utah University in Cedar Citv. The. Panguitch High School Bobettes emerged as first place winners overall making it a three-year sweep now taking the Region championship. They took first place trophies in each routine for military, prop and novelty. Bryce Valley placed second overall with a first place in dance, second in military and third in prop. Although the Escalante Moquettes did not place in the top three slots at Region, they took three superiors, one each in military, dance and prop, allowing them to compete at state drill team competition on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Weber State College. The props this year at Panguitch were silvery painted chairs with combinations and maneuvers that were really effective as the chairs were turned over and about. The novelty as a return to the purple people eaters of four years previous with new animated moves and backdrop. Their military was crisp, clean and formidable; all three routines high on the on the audience and judging crowd pleasing barometer. The Bobbette advisor is Monica Tebbs. The BV Brycettes shined as they ,took a solid first place in dance with black uniforms with silver and green glittered skirts, followed by Enterprises second place and Piute in thrid. Their military routine on the mark in their maroon, silver and black sequined uniforms. The prop routine was performed in black velvet short uniforms with gold and silver glittered tops. Advisors for Bryce Valley are Cherish Syrett and Cherry Tebbs. The Escalante Moquettes while still a very young team gave their finest performances and will be the only school heading to state competition that did not place in the top three slots at Region. Their team includes Alayse Butler, Dianna Clark, Tempe Butler, Shondelle Cottam, Rebecca Fischer, Ashley Greer, Jennifer Wolfe, Brittany Butler, Ruth Crawford, Heather Davis, Jessica Henry, Sarah Costigan, Amie Christensen, Heather Fischer, Melissa Mclnelly and Karla Roundy. Advisors this year are Kym Reid and Karla Roundy. |
