Show Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 Margaret M. and Marge Me-cham Me-cham were in Salt Lake City where Margaret's family always has a family-get-together around I.DS General Conference time. Margaret reports that they had a nice time. Verlyn Munson called to say that she is home from the Extended Ex-tended Care Center for good and she is glad to be home again. Merle Richards is improving each. day; so is Elwood Campbell. Every one who has called agrees that if the weather would cooperate, we would all feel better. Can't believe how cold it has turned again; seems like it always does at this time of year. We need the moisture but don't like the cold wind that comes with it. One thing about snow storms this time of year They don't last long and melt right into the ground to help bring the green that's right behind.. James and Susie Littlefield are here with their Mother Sara Littlefield. They came to take her to an ear specialist. On the day of the bad snow storm, they called Sara from Cedar City where it was snowing hard to see if they should continue on, and because it was sunny in Tropic, i Sara said to go ahead they would probably drive right out of it. Instead, they drove right into it, with snow all the way from there to Panguitch and beyond as the storm moved eastward. Danny and Vicki Shakespear from New Harmony along with son J.R and his wife Michelle from Las Vegas and their two children came to see Dixie Shakespear. Heber Hall, Dixie's brother, stopped in to visit on his way to Boulder. Received word that Nell Wilson has broken her right wrist. Folks in Tropic miss Nell but are pleased that she is happy where she is. Vance, Jeanene Pollock along with children Sunny, Shannon, brother Steve, Machelle Pollock, Tice, Paula and Kayce Palmer with fiancee Tyson Brinkerhoff went to St. George to the Sawyer Brown concert. As they stopped to eat, in came the celebrities they had come to see who sat at the table next to them. Kayce got Sunny, and went over to the table and introduced Sonny to the famous group telling them Sunny was their greatest fan. LaFaun Pollock, now in Kanab, is eager for the weather to break so that she can return here. She enjoys her new roommate because they have much in common. . Sandra Cox reports that her mother Shirley Haycock is doing great. Michael and Lesa Ahlstrom, along with Michael's sister Julie Ahlstrom, are home . from college until next fall. Florence and Mondell Syrett and Sonie and Lynn Allen and their families picked up Royal and Rella Allen and went to Rock i Springs where they found a special little nook to enjoy an Ester picnic. Florence and Mondell Mon-dell had earlier been in Salt lake City to bid son Lance good-bye for two years, as he left to serve a mission in San Diego, Calif. Lowell and Margaret Mecham were in Salt Lake City along with daughter Shauna and Garth Talbot over Easter hoping to get family pictures taken, but because son Tony had an infection he was unable to leave his care center for pictures. Louise Ott was in Panguitch for an Avon meeting. Husband Stanley drove her over and ran some errands while she was at the meeting. Louise is slowly regaining regain-ing her strength, but it has taken longer than expected. Sunny is still on cloud nine. Arthur and Vicki Syrett took their two grandsons Jorday and Joseph to Arizona then on home to Richfield. They are the sons of Debbie and David Jensen. Tammy Schmitt was in Ogden for a few days, then she and Allen were in St.George. Last week it was reported that Keela Mangum and Florence Syrett went to Baltimore where they took a bus to Pennsylvania and Gettysburg. Keela called to report that they had a wonderful time and had seen so many interesting things. She said the plane ride was a little bumpy taking off and landing but, other than that, it was a wonderful trip. One of their fellow travelers was Lucille Sargent, formerly of Panguitch. Tom Heywood called the other day to say that he and his wife Patti will be sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple April 18. He said he misses the folks in Tropic. Dale and Lucy Williams had two of their daughters visit them recently. Kim Hansen is enjoying her visit with the Orlan Ruesches She had gone to Cedar City to pick up Jeremy Bybee who had been on a visit to the dentist. Kim's Mom Ferriland, who recently had some medical tests in Cedar City and must now be on |
