Show Tropic .Hews By Lynn Munson 679-8627 ' Don and Dixie Munson stopped for a visit with Si Munson and daughter, Lynn Munson on Saturday. They are "snowbirds" on . their way to their home in St. George for the winter. They have a daughter, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also in St. George. Lynn Munson has had a very busy week. She is having physical therapy three times a week in Panguitch and has been able to visit friends in the Long Term Care Facility there several times then she traveled to St. George on Thursday for a medical appointment. Alan Munson' s sons, John and Darrel were here a week for the deer hunt. They returned to Las Vegas on Monday. Haven't received any calls on the deer hunt or about hunters who were here. I can't report what I don't hear! In Tropic LDS Ward Sacrament meeting on Sunday the program was the mission farewell of Elder Eric Clarke who is going to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The speakers were his brothers and sisters, Malory, Parker, Pace, Megan, Preston and parents Wesley and Ellen Clarke. The prayers were given by grandfathers Floyd Tucker and Lester Clarke. Elder Eric Clarke is an excellent speaker, very knowledgeable and will make an outstanding missionary. There was a large crowd of out of town family and friends attending his farewell. The LDS Family Home Evening group met on Monday at Dixie Shakespear's home. She and Lynn Munson were hostesses for the evening. Attending were Ellen Bybee, Ida Harmon, Ann Marie Johnson, Margaret Mecham and Minnie Nielson. Tuesday, the Young Women's group of the LDS Tropic Ward joined in a woodcutting activity as a service project. They cut, hauled and staked the wood for a number of (See TROPIC on page 4-A) TROPIC From Page 2-A families and there were many willing hands to help with the work. Those who received the wood are very grateful to all those who took part in the service project. Last week LaMar LeFevre attended the graduation of grandson Cory LeFevre from vocational dental school at Utah Valley State Tech. Cory is a son of Les and Delia LeFevre of Las Vegas. Later Ethel's sister Margene Moore and brother and wife, Alan and Florence Clarke were weekend guests. Joining them for dinner and to plan a reunion were Lester and Vertis Clarke and Jim and Erma Clarke. Gloria Hayden attended the wedding of granddaughter Johnene Palmer to David Paul Bender in Fallon, Nev. Her parents are John and Tina Bera Palmer. Visiting at home with Gloria was cousin Deward and wife, Revon Smith and their son and wife, Sam and Donna Smith of Babbitt, Nev. EvaDean Francisco had surgery on her knee last week at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. She is improving and will go into the care center for awhile before returning home. Charlie is also improving from his recent surgery. Ella Adair is also at the care center in St. George. She is regaining strength and hopefully will be home soon. Paris Feltner, daughter of Todd and Jennifer Feltner was the focus of a two-part story on Channel 5 news last week. It was a very moving and heartfelt piece telling of her struggles and triumphs over a rare disease that she has. We all send our love and prayers for the entire Feltner family. All of Shirley Haycock's children were here Wednesday for the funeral of her brother, Jack Pollock. Richard and Connie Haycock of Moab traveled here along with Garna Kay and Leland Deuel of St. George; Kerry Haycock of Panguitch and Sandra Cox and Bruce Haycock of Tropic. Shirley was also in Cedar City with Lynn Munson for a medical appointment later that week. Proud grandparents Clare and Mary Lee . Ramsay traveled to American Fork Hospital for the birth of their 11th grandchild. The baby boy, Dylan Wade, was born Sunday, Nov. 14, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 19 inches to Wade and Sherrylynn Ramsay of American Fork. The newest prospective basketball hopefull will join a little sister, Taylor Lynn. Sara Littlefield is a patient at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch. She was taken to Panguitch Tuesday by Marie and Janet Pollock. Visiting with her on Wednesday were Agnes Littlefield, daughter Linda Gates, Mary Ott and . Dixie Shakespear. Linda returned to California after spending a month helping her parents. We wish Sara a speedy recovery and that she will return home quickly. |
