Show Escqlontc Hays By Marlene Haws 826-4859 The basketball fans who went to the state tournament, in Orem, not only enjoyed the games but got to visit with a lot of former residents who also came to' cheer our team on. Dick Droubay, who now lives in Salt Lake City, came to our game the first night. The second night he not only came back but brought his sister Julie and her two boys, who live in Richfield. It was good to visit with them. Bill and Dawn Griffin had part of their family up there for the wedding wed-ding of Brooke Griffin and Hans Petersen, of Brigham City. Brooke is the daughter of Boyd and Trudi Griffin, Cleveland. The wedding took place at the Mt. Timpanogas LDS Temple. Other family members mem-bers who were there included Bryan and Sue Lynn Griffin, Richfield; Jeanette and Doug Braithwaite, Sunset; Patrice Eyre, Centerville; and Evan and Nicki Excell, South Jordan. They all enjoyed a wedding breakfast together, after the ceremony, cere-mony, at Magleby's Restaurant. It was nice to visit with Boyd Griffin and family at the ballgames also with Evan and Nicki Excell and daughter, Jessi, who says she reads the Garfield County News faithfully at school in Cedar City. The Porier boys, Ben and Budd, brought their sister, Bernice Losee to see one game. Budd's granddaughter, grand-daughter, Kimberly Nelson, Green-river, Green-river, was with them, but she was still feeling bad because our team had beaten theirs the night before so she didn't do much cheering for our team! That's okay. A one point loss is hard to take in anyone's book! Sam Steed, Marysvale, was in our corner. So were Brandon Haws, Jillyn Sorensen and kids, from Salina. I'm sure there were others, that I didn't see, but everyone had fun! Our boys had lots of support from Escalante people and we were really proud of them. |
