Show OrUla "Rilly" Liston Cowles ESCALANTE Orilla "Rilly" Liston Cowles, 94, of Escalante, Utah, passed away Aug. 28, 1998, in Richfield. She was, born Aug. 30, 1903, in Escalante, to Perry M. and Emma Jean Shirts Liston. She married Daniel Henry Cowles, Aug. 22, 1920. The marriage mar-riage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 15, 1922. He preceded her in death, Aug. 18, 1986. Orilla was an active member of the LDS Church where she served as Relief Society President and as a counselor. She also served in many other callings. She was a member of the D.U.P. She is" survived by her children: Leon and Beth Cowles, Portland, Ore.; Twila Michelangelo, Richfield; Rich-field; Margean Schow, Escalante; Coleen and Glen Imlay, Evanston, Wyo.; Emma Lou and Wells Mclnelly, Ellensburg, Wash.; Alvin and Joanne Cowles and Newell New-ell and Dorothy Cowles, all of Richfield; 25 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her '1 i . , I i'.:.)t I Orilla "Rilly" Cowles husband; son, Orvil Cowles; 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Tues-day, Sept. 1 in the Escalante 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Escalante Cemetery. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Sondra "Sonny" White PANGUITCH Sondra "Sonny" White, 61, died Aug. 25, 1998 in St. George. She was born on Oct. 25, 1936 in El Paso, Tex. Sonny married William "Gene" White in 1972. She lived in Escondido, Calif, for 43 years before moving to Panguitch in 1994. She worked for Pacific Bell for 28 years, retiring as a manager. Sonny was a graduate of Escondido High School of the class of 1954. Sonny was best known for her unique handicraft abilities including includ-ing teddy bears and award-winning award-winning quilts. She touched many lives and wil be remembered remem-bered for her big heart. Sonny will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She is survived by her husband; hus-band; children: Mike Powers, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Mark and Annette Powers, David and Janet White and Kendal and Morgan White, all of Escondido; grandchildren: Bridgette White, Shilo Powers, Shannon Carmen, Eric White, Brittany White, Dane White, Michah Powers, Rachel White, and Kendalyn White; sister sis-ter Linda DeCamp of Iowa; and brother Gary Mathews of Escondido. Escon-dido. Memorial services were held in Panguitch on Saturday, Aug. 29. Interment will be today, Thursday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Escondido.
