Show I Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 On Aug. 24, Sjlas and Irene Munson celebrated their 68th wedding wed-ding anniversary. Their family had a family dinner for them. Congratulations! That is a milestone. mile-stone. What a glorious time everyone had at the J.R. and Janet Ott reunion. re-union. Of the 793 family descendants, descen-dants, over 300 were in attendance. The five living children were given special recognition and tributes were read. Louie Shakespear's was read by son, Bill; Wallace Ott's was read by son, Lloyd; Sara Littlfield's was read by son, Jim; Rose Olsen's was read by son, Fred and Agnes Littlefield's was read by daughter , Linda Gates. Each, along with their mates, was given a buttonaire flower. Wallace" and Mary Ott had 76 descendants in attendance and Louie had all of her living children there. Fred said that he had nine children and Agnes had 34 there. Layton Pat and Betty Ott have six children. Stanley had all five of his children here and their mates and 15 grandchildren. John Gernesy and Merle Stucki Ott had two of their children in attendance, Dennis and Eileen form South Jordan. It would take too long to mention everyone ev-eryone and some may be missed. The Darren Otts and family from Kanab and both the Dean and Kent Wintch families were in attendance. Clive and Thelma Bybee have another grandson, born to Paul and Kaylyn Harward. This makes five, three girls and two boys. Clive and Thelma were up north helping out. There was an LDS Stake High Priest party held in Boulder. The senior citizen bus took some people from here over. The Elders are having a party at Pine Lake on Saturday. Stanley Ott had a birthday and sisters Janet Pollock and Rella and Royal Alvey stopped by with presents pre-sents and treats. But best of all was the good visit that was enjoyed by all. Ron and Susie Millet were in town visiting. We were happy Lorene Munson was able to be at church. Eva Dean Francisco's niece, Kelly Leigh Bartholomew and family fam-ily visited on Saturday. Sunday, her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Kent Webster, Salt Lake City, came by and surprised her. Eva Dean is still having therapy ther-apy on her arms in Panguitch three days a week. Pete and Barbara Alfano, former Tropic residents who are now retired re-tired and reside in Las Vegas have been visiting in the area and enjoying a vacation the past couple weeks. Norm and Clella Littlefield and Lanny Littlefield were in town get- ting some of their things from their home. They visited friends and family and stayed at Dixie Shakes-pear's Shakes-pear's home. Dixie's brother, Heber Hall, stopped by on his way to Boulder. Attending an open house at the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple were Ella Adair, Minnie Nielson, Florene Sudweeks, Margaret Mecham and Margie Mecham, Obie and June Shakespear, Dixie Shakespear and Clare and Mary Lee Ramsay. Clare drove the senior se-nior citizen bus and from all reports it was a perfect day. Alex Syrett, son of Eric and Tracey Syrett and Jimmy Shakespear, son of Franz and Margaret Shakespear were baptized in the LDS church. Amy Seiler gave her LDS mission mis-sion report. Here for the occasion were many friends and relatives of the Seiler family. Layne and April LeFevre had April's parents, Art and Hazel Evans, sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Kevan Johnson and niece Amber Applegate all visit from Parowan. Wanda Shakespear was in St. George for a doctor appointment. Stanley and Louise Ott were surprised when Louise's cousin, Margie Scott, St. George came by. Louise hadn't seen her for over a year. Then a brother and wife, Kenneth and Lorraine Heywood, stayed overnight with them on their way home to Wasco, Calif, after visiting in Salt Lake City with their children and other family members. The Heywoods are ordinance workers in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Orlan and Ferriland Ruesch and RaVae Pollock were in Moab where they met Darr and Gloria Hatch for a visit. Karen Ott attended the National Post Office Convention that was held in Salt Lake City. Clive and Thelma Bybee got home from helping daughter and son-in-law, Kaylyn and Paul Harward with their new baby and Kevan and Kassie Bybee and. five children from Ogden came for the weekend and a class reunion. Ann Griffin broke her hip, then had a stroke on top of it. She lives now in Vernal. Her daughter, Carla Day, reports that Ann is doing as well as can be expected. |
