The Michal and Suzzette Fowlks family on the other hand, who have one son, Brad, 13 and a daughter, Leslie, 10 got a male Japanese exchange student, Mizuki month under the 4-H program. Mizuki, an only child back in Japan, got to compete in a 5K run with his host family and made a "dream catcher" to exhibit in the Garfield County Fair. For both families there was four weeks of lots of sightseeing, local activities and a major change of cuisine for the Japanese students. Both mothers saw their new charges really take to American food, saying "they ate like horses." Between the two they learned to love spaghetti, ice cream, bread, cherry coke and Gummy worms. |
