Show AREA OBITUARIES Sixtus Ellis Johnson HENRIEVILLE, UTAH Sixtus Ellis Johnson, 89, Henrie -ville, Utah died May 30, 1996 in Panguitch, Utah. He was born June 20, 1906 in Cannonville, Utah to Sixtus Ellis, Sr. and Lovisa Cox Johnson. Ellis married Edith Arvella Clifford, Aug. 23, 1934 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Ellis was a coal miner in Carbon County for over 20 years. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. for 55 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served two missions for the church. He also served on the Carbon LDS Stake High Council and was a sought-after sought-after speaker. He is survived by his wife, Arvella, Henrieville; four sons and two daughters, Clifford Johnson, Henrieville; Donald Keith and Sandra Johnson, Golden Valley, Ariz.; Kenneth Johnson, Reno, Nev.; Melba and Charles Hinds, . Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Norma Ruth Asay, Bountiful; Dennis and Joyce, Johnson, Panguitch; 28 grandchildren, grand-children, 12 great-grandchildren, brother and sisters, Clement Johnson, Provo; Thorley Johnson, Henrieville, Nina Robison, Hanks-ville Hanks-ville and Delpha Rose, Henrieville. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Garth, Orville and Bryan Johnson and three sisters Thelma Johnson, Velta Johnson and Merintha Johnson. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 1996 in the Henrieville LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Klin Chynoweth officiating. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Andrea Asay, a granddaughter. Norma Ruth Johnson John-son Asay, a daughter, gave the family prayer prior to opening the service. A son, Dennis Johnson, gave the invocation, followed by tributes from a brother, Thorley Johnson and son, Keith Johnson. Andrea Asay, a granddaughter, played a piano solo, followed by tributes Sixtus Ellis Johnson from sister Nina Robinson and grandson, Carlon Johnson. The Rose family presented a musical selection, "When It's Spring Time In The Rockies." Bishop Klin Chynoweth gave remarks with the congregation singing "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," accompanied by Andrea Asay. Bishop Jim Smith gave the benediction. Pallbearers were Sam Asay, Nathan Asay, Carlon Johnson, Clifford Clif-ford Johnson, Keith Johnson and Dennis Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Matthew Johnson, John-son, Kendall Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Adam Johnson, Michael Hinds, Mark Hinds, J.D. Keel, Weston Johnson (serving an LDS mission), Brent Millet and Timothy Millet. Compassionate services were rendered by the sisters of the Henrieville Hen-rieville LDS Ward Relief Society. Interment was in the Henrieville Henrie-ville Cemetery with Clement H. Johnson performing the dedication of the grave, under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Vivian Betenson CIRCLEVILLE, UTAH Vivian Brinkerhoff Betenson, 80, of Circleville, Utah died on May 28, 1996 at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch, Utah. She was born Sept. 9, 1915 in Glendale, Utah to Silas and Clara Cutler Brinkerhoff. Vivian married Joseph Mark Tennyson Betenson on Dec. 2, 1939 in Circleville. He died Feb. 25, 1984. Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Linda and Edward Miller, Prescott, Ariz.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mariam Betenson, Kanab, Utah and Beryl Johnson, Washington, Utah. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 30, 1996 at 10 a.m. in the Circleville Second LDS Ward Chapel in Circleville with Bishop L. Kirt Robinson officiating. officia-ting. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Brenda Robinson. Edward Miller offered the family prayer prior to the opening of the service. William Betenson gave the invocation, followed by a musical selection, "In This Very Room," by Julie Ann Betenson and accompanied accom-panied by Doug Bunting. Gregory Wade Betenson spoke, followed by remarks from Bishop L. Kirt Robinson. A musical selection, "O My Father," was sung by Julie Ann Betenson, accompanied accom-panied by Doug Bunting. The benediction was given by Wade Betenson. Pallbearers were William M i - Vivian Brinkerhoff Betenson Betenson, Greg Betenson, Mark Miller, Troy Triplett, Wade Beten- ; on, Linden Romine and Doug . Bunting. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Betenson, Steve Pratt, Scott Pratt, Paul Applegate and Michael Apple-gate. Apple-gate.
