Michael and Raleen Jones Connell and their two young sons, John Lorin and Patrick, were here from Houston, Tex., to give a garden gar-den birthday party for his mother Edna Connell Clark at her home. It was Edna's 80th birthday. One hundred fifty of Edna's friends enjoyed visiting with her and listening lis-tening to her grandsons sing songs to grandma. It was special to have friends Pastor Leo Porter and his wife Nita here from Nebraska Ne-braska to celebrate the occasion. On July 5, the parishioners and priests at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Panguitch gave Edna a party. She was happy to receive blessings from the priests. The Connell family stayed for a week. They especially enjoyed visiting the Paunsagunt Wildlife Museum and places close to their hearts before going on to Disneyland. Edna said the house seems very lonesome now. Dorothy stayed for a visit but Laine went back to his summer pastimes. Mamie and Barbara Talbot went to Cedar City for Mamie's post surgery checkup and were glad to get back home out of the extreme heat, and with good news of benign results of the surgery. Several folks are having their houses painted. We are glad we have Wendy Swiger of "A Lady's Touch" living here to do painting on our weathered house trim. A lot of people are busy getting get-ting the floats ready for the 24th parade. Most all of the garages and empty buildings are being used for the decorating process. |
