Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The blue jays are back and the wild geese are stopping to graze the fields where they can find bare spots on their way north. The State Library Board and the local school board have approved the purchase of the Panguitch Middle Mid-dle School for a Panguitch Public Library and the Garfield County Bookmobile. Now if all those books were just moved and placed. By the way, the Gene Roundy's children are boys, not girls as we mistakenly announced. Beverly Crosby says that daughter daugh-ter Kathy Crosby, Ping, Ariz., who has been diagnosed as having multiple mul-tiple sclerosis, is doing well as she adjusts to new medication. The LDS Seminary students gave a fine program in the Panguitch Pangui-tch LDS Second Ward meeting on Valentines Day with seven good speakers and two special musical numbers. Gai Wilcock and Dennis Johnson John-son gave interesting talks in the Panguitch LDS Third Ward meetings meet-ings last week as did youth speakers, speak-ers, Garrett Sawyer and Sandy Veater. Pepper Hatch's musical number was lovely. In the Panguitch LDS First Ward last week, Phil Davis was called to be a Sunday School teacher. Phil has returned from his hitch of duty with the military overseas. He and his two sons are living here with Norman and June Davis. Chaney Mower graduated from Primary and was ordained a Deacon. Sid Fullmer was ordained a teacher. The Sacrament meeting was given by the Chris Gilbert family. Charles and Lorene Hepworth spent time in Mesa, Ariz, with a Navy buddy of Chuck's and his wife, Don and Donna Brown. This past week Lorene Hep-worth Hep-worth was honored by Zions First National Bank officials for her long good work over the years. She was given a beautiful watch and a citation, cita-tion, then all the bank workers were taken out for Pizza by the officials. Dellis LeFevre, Hope Goulding and the Church Hepworths went to the eye doctor in Cedar City and came home pleased by the good reports re-ports they received. The Darrell and Cheryl Jensen family has moved north to run a farm. Darrell has bee a city council member and Cheryl has worked as an EMT member. They will surely be missed in town. The Lions and Lady Lions Clubs are working on two quilts to send to the State Eye Institute to help fumish a floor for that build-ing...that build-ing...that is, the ladies are quilting and the men bought the materials for those quilts. The Panguitch Homemakers have made several baby quilts for the Pink Ladies Cart at the hospital to help raise money for the proposed pro-posed Extended Care Center. Other articles have been donated by folks from other towns to help the cause out. Panguitchites Pearl Proctor Stewart, Redland, Calif, and George "Jigger" Talbot, Henderson, Nev. have died after long illnesses. Pearl was the daughter of Ray and Vera Proctor and was buried in Redland. Jigger's parents were Frank and Bessie Talbot. He was buried in Henderson. Steve and Janice Hatch announced an-nounced the marriage of their daughter, Alisha Hatch to Tracy Esplin, Cedar City. They were married in the Manti LDS Temple. Tracy is a son of Ken and Dayle Esplin, Cedar -City. The young couple will continue their education at Southern Utah University. The Bobettes performed at the Region 12 drill team competition in Cedar City. Lots of parents were recruited to drive the students and a lot of basketball fans wore the snow off the Bear Valley road. Thanks State Road crews for all your hard work the last two months. They are worn to a frazzle. |
