Show i " 1 "' - M ... , N ; V i ' V Two Panguitch High School drill team members accept championship trophy from Region 12 Utah High School Athletic Association Board Chairman Ted Chidester, also their principal at PHS. Two Area Drill Teams Head For State Tourney The Panguitch High School Bobettes captured overall first place in Region 12 Drill Team competition competi-tion held Saturday at the Centrum at Southern Utah University. Six Region 12 teams competed for honors and a chance at state drill team competition: Panguitch, Bryce Valley, Piute, Wayne, Mil-ford Mil-ford and Enterprise. All Military routines were performed first, then Dance, then Prop and last, Novelty routines, always the crowd-pleasing favorites. The Bobettes took firsts in Novelty Nov-elty and Military and seconds in Dance and Prop. The Piute team took first place in Dance and Prop and the Bryce Valley Brycettes took second place in Military and Novelty. All three teams received i all superior marks to qualify for state competition next week. Announcer for the morning program pro-gram at SUU was Dennis Cobia of I Milford High School. Judges for I the events were Stacie Bradshaw, Julie Henderson, Mary Stoddard, Mary Ann Wiebe and Jamie Jones. Penalty judges were Diana Gardner and Julie Nelson. Tabulator was Kent Peterson; directing the competition was Carol Bishop and assistant direction was by Jamie Jones. |
