Show Grazing Board Adds Garfield Members Howard Hatch of Panguitch and Dave Townsend of Escalante will serve as members of the Grazing Advisory Board for the Cedar City District Bureau of Land Management. Members of the board recently named Ray Yardley of Beaver as their chairman for the "current chater term which ends in May 1988. Vice chairman is Card Heaton of Alton and secretary-treasurer is Dennis Iverson of Washington. Other board members include Wendell Jones of Cedar City and Earl Sorenson of Orderville. When elected, the current board included Cleo Wood of Cedar City who died prior to the board convening con-vening its first meeting. At that meeting, the board appointed Wendell Jones to replace him based on vote totals from the elections. Board members are elected by grazing permit holders throughout the district and serve without compensation for two year terms. The board was established by the Secretary of Interior to advise the district manager on grazing management issues and use of range betterment funds. In addition, the State of Utah has given them responsibility for the use of funds returned to the local area from BLM grazing fees. |
