Show Carson Marshall Is Newest Eagle Scout Panguitch High School senior Carson Marshall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Marshall, received the coveted Eagle Scout badge at a Court of Honor held Sunday, March 1 in the Panguitch LDS Stake Center under the direction of Bishop Joseph Black of the Panguitch First Ward. The Eagle Badge, the highest single award that can be earned by a scout, encompasses passing through the ranks of cubbing, scouting, varsity and, often, explorer scouting. Marshal is symbolic of the two percent of boys who enter scouting, staying and working through to Eagle rank. The office of Eagle scout requires the earning of at least 21 merit badges, 11 which are required and 10 of the scout's choice. Marshall, who has had his Eagle requirements completed for over a year, advises other scouts to work hard and "get your badge early." Each Eagle scout is required to choose a comprehensive project ' which must be approved by his unit' leaded. : Marshall's project was organizing the Panguitch City Blood Drive. His parents participated in Sunday night's ceremony and the "pinning" of the new Eagle. His father and his grandfather Monte Marshall both spoke at the rite.
