Show - Fanguiteh Fatter - The Daughters ot the Utah Pioneers Camp Cornelia and Camp Loyhova, met Feb. 12 at the Senior Citizens Center. The meeting was conducted by Iretta Henrie. Twenty three members and two guests enjoyed hearing the history of Martha Jane Sevy Proctor as given by her daughter Merle Stowell. Pauline Prince gave the lesson, "Utah Rivers", about the role Utah Pioneers played in the introduction of irrigation to the arid sections of the state. Explorers went along the Utah rivers within 50 years of the discovery of the American continent by Columbus. The next meeting is scheduled for March 12. Champ Henrie is a patient in the Dixie Medical Center in St. George after suffering a fall in St. George. Visiting in the home of Kern Owens over the weekend were his daughers Kay Houston of Springdale and Caroline Bruce, Salt Lake City. Caroline's son , Steven is in the Missionary Training Center in Provo prior to his mission in Frankfurt, Frank-furt, Germany. Barbara Gai Marshall, Draper visited with her mother Hilma Excell. Dan Harris was home from Southern Utah State College, Cedar City to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Harris. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Dalbey, West Valley City visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Miller. Martha Ipson, Price and Kathy Riggs, Nephi spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Riggs. Clifford LeFevre, Clearfield and his grandchildren, Bard LeFevre, Christine LeFevre and Jason LeFevre visited with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LeFevre. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hatch, lames H. Hatch and JoAnn Miller attended the funeral services of ESa Lund, West VaBey C.ty. Joann was able to visit with her brother Shis wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Elmer who were there from California. In the Second Ward sacrament meeting, the speakers were Kami Frandsen, a youth speaker and stake visitors, Sherrie Burningham and Henry Jolley. The choir furnished fur-nished a musical number. In the Third Ward sacrament meeting, the youth speakers were Travis Hatch and Suzzett Simkins, and stake visitors Wiley Huntington and Norman McKee. Todd Henrie of Cedar City where he is attending SUSC, was home for the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Henrie. Judy Henrie attended funeral services of her sister-in-law's father Donald Skogaard in Koosharem on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Anderson are grandparents of a grandson, Nicholas James born to their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson, Kanab on Feb. 9. The "New Beginnings" program for the young women in the Panguitch Second Ward was held Tuesday, Feb. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Vee Foy, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Foy, Mike Foy and Hilda Gardner were in Upland, Calif, to attend the baptism into the LDS church of their brother-in-law and uncle Joe Van Sant, the husband of their sister Mary. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sevy and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crosby, Panguitch; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Griffin, Escalante and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis, Orem spent three days in Phoenix at the horse races and a day in Las Vegas. They report a fun-filled fun-filled trip. |
