Show 1 Additional Water Expected Through Sprinkler System TROPIC Paul Mangum and Earl Jolley of Tropic are spearheading a sprinkler project in the Bryce Valley area that is expected ex-pected to solve not only a supply problem but is expected to lower the water table under the east end of the community that has plagued local landowners for many years. The project being completed by volunteer labor on the part of those who own the land, has, "been blessed by the good weather," said Jolley. The "combine" of farmers and ranchers consisting of a loose fellowship of approximately 18 members, is expected to pay $30,000 for the trunk line, or about $95 per acre. Mangum, one of the ranchers, said that at this phase of the operation, he may invest as much as $10,000 in his acreage. He said he would probably go into the wheel line mode. Others he said would probably invest as little as $4,000 and would go to hand lines. As yet there are no plans to install pivot lines such as those in the Panguitch area. Jim Yardley and his son John Yardley and Lowell V. Henrie and his son Lowell V. Henrie J. have installed this type of watering system. Lowell Henrie, Jr. indicated that he and his father would purchase another unit. The trunk line, dropping down from a pond on the west side of town, passes just south of the Shingletown Sandwich Shop and corsses Highway High-way 12 through a culvert. The drunkline started out at 18 inches. When it got to the culvert, it was found that the culvert, only 12 inches in diameter, necessiated reducing the supply line for the highway crossing. However the water engineer for the project said that the reduction would not effect the flow. 4''"''"" ' Wy.. , . v mm Y ) f r - ' , j Cv - , ;. ( r- . .j j. I - 1. ' . j .
