Show Roe Assigned Philadelphia Park Position Douglas Roe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roe of Panguitch, has recently been permanently assigned with the National Park Service to Independence Park in downtown Philadelphia. The park was established estab-lished in two blocks of Philadelphia containing historical sites and artifacts arti-facts relating to the nation's early history, with the Liberty Bell, Independence In-dependence Hall and many historically histori-cally significant documents important impor-tant to the founding of the Republic. Repub-lic. Roe spent five years as a seasonal sea-sonal ranger before receiving his permanent appointment. He served four years at Bryce Canyon and a year at Canyonlands. He is a graduate gradu-ate of Panguitch High School and holds a degree in parks and recreation recre-ation from Utah State University. He and his wife, Donna, have three children. He anticipates at least a year at his present assignment assign-ment and would like eventually to serve in the western U.S. His parents visited recently in Omaha, Neb., where his brother, Major Russell Roe, is assigned with the Air Force. They spent five days in Philadelphia with the Douglas Dou-glas Roes and also visited Green Bay, Wis., for a reunion of the senior se-nior Roe's World War n Army Air Force 1 1th Bomb Group. |
