Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The calendar says it's spring and folks are starting their yard work. It must be so. Herds of deer are boldly grazing the fields and roadsides road-sides where the green shoots are showing up. They are not a bit skittish. We are sorry to get word from Dixie of the death of Gerald Veater while he and wife Marilyn were attending at-tending a snowbird square dance session. It's good to see the Nelson Motel Mo-tel open again after being closed for some years. Maxine Greene Mack-elprang Mack-elprang is manager of the motel owned by Bryan Hill of Mesa, Ariz. Maxine will be remembered by many folks as Maxine Greene who, with her husband Don Greene, lived here a number of years ago. They helped to start the first Little League baseball teams, worked in 4-H and several other activities with the young people. We welcome her back. Panguitch LDS Second Ward youth speaker was Tina Burning-ham. Burning-ham. Sister Kimberly Talbot reported re-ported her mission to Chile. Her grandfather, Mayo Rich also spoke. Kimberly is the daughter of Doug Talbot, Phoenix, Ariz, and Christy Rich Talbot, Anchorage, Alaska. She is spending a few days visiting her grandparents the Mayo Riches and Freda Talbot and other family members and friends in the area. Loretta Linford is in a Provo hospital for further treatment on her knee. All three LDS Ward Relief Societies So-cieties have had outstanding 150th birthday celebrations during March. Their decorations and programs centered cen-tered on early LDS church happenings. happen-ings. In the Panguitch LDS First Ward meeting Branden Boshell graduated from Primary and was approved ap-proved to be ordained a Deacon. Travis Christy was advanced to the office of a Priest. The Relief Society Soci-ety Presidency and members of the Bishopric were speakers. Becky. Riggs and Trudi Yardley were youth, speakers and two lovely musical numbers were performed by Shera-lyn Shera-lyn LeFevre, Diane Fullmer, Deana Moore, Pam Yardley and Jolene Smith. Piano accompaniment was by Marilyn Twitchell. Panguitchites Keith and Roma Henrie, Ariz, stopped by to visit his brother and sister-in-law, the Steele Henries; on their way to visit family around the state. The Arlyn, Proctors and Merlin Partridges stopped in overnight at the home of their parents, the Jay Proctors and Arthur Partridges. The two couples ' were on their way home to Centerville after spending a week's vacation in Calif. |
