Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The meadow larks are in full voice. They seem to be excited over our early spring and the farmers are plowing full blast. Most old timers are wondering what the catch is that we have such a short winter and wet spring. June, Devon and Vicky Owens went to Kanab to see Brent Owens, June's son, set apart as First Counselor Coun-selor in the Bishopric of the Kanab LDS Seventh Ward. Art and Fern Sevy, Escondido, Calif, stopped in to visit their sisters sis-ters Pauline Prince and Norma Talbot Tal-bot on the way home from LDS General Conference. Love and sympathy goes to the family of our dear Zina Proctor upon her death. Members of the Cornelia Camp DUP met for a lesson on pioneer letters and a history of George W. Sevy. Plans were discussed to put a sprinkling system in at the DUP museum and also have painting and repairs done inside the building. Ruth Henrie had daughter, Irene Henrie Tebbs, Cedar City here for a short visit. Brian Foy was life-flighted north for medical treatment. He returned home shortly. Lyle, Kathy, Cory, Kimberlee and Callee Talbot, Sandy spent the weekend with Mamie Talbot. Loretta Linford is home from a stint in a Provo hospital. It was a lengthy stay for treatment. The Bob McCulloughs have a baby girl. Grandma Verna Owens came to help with the five boys and at least get a peak at the baby. Elizabeth Foy is back from two weeks with daughter Caroline Robinson in Las Vegas. Granddaughters Grand-daughters Ann and Amy Robinson were scheduled to go with their dance group to perform at Sea World in California. Elizabeth and Caroline joined the group on the buses and had a ball in the San Diego area. Before coming home, Elizabeth spent two days with her sister in St. George. Bill and Helen Slack went to St. George for her to have 'surgery. Bill didn't care for the motel stay so they were both ready and willing to come back home. The Robert Solidays, who owned the former John Chidester home, have sold out and moved away. No more trees to trim, they had done such a good job. The Monte Mangums have moved also. He got a job for another an-other company up north. Kim Soper has now moved into his father, fa-ther, Jack Soper's home where the Mangums lived. Stan and Lana Foy made a trip to Hawaii but we haven't been able to corral them to find out if it was business or pleasure. Miles and Esther Barney are home from snowbird country. Lynn, Amy, Brianna and Braxton Brax-ton Crosby were here with Jay and Maxine Crosby over the weekend. A group of women went to the St. George LDS temple last week with Karran Harris. Her car had trouble so they ended up borrowing Don Stowell's car to make it back home. Buck and Shirley Bulkley visited in Delta with a very ill friend and in Ogden with daughter Bonnie and husband Rick Williams. They had been very busy helping Grandpa Bill Niebel get ready to leave his home here and move to Dallas, Tex., where he married a long time friend, Garnett Jones. Best wishes for your happiness, Bill. A group of LDS temple workers had the opportunity to visit with Jack and Nina Voris in a parking lot in Cedar City. Jack has formed a company which he expected to spent a lot of time with this past winter, but both his father and mother died. So he has had to spend much time in Bakersfield taking care of affairs there. Son John Voris is attending college in St. George and his folks think his major may be girls and having a good time. |
