Show New Correspondent For Boulder Area BOULDER New correspondent correspon-dent for the Garfield County News in Boulder is Jeanne Harshman. She will write the weekly column of Boulder news and residents are encourage to contact her at 335-7348 335-7348 with their news. Harshman and her husband Ray, a retired aerospace research engineer, are beginning to settle in to a rural lifestyle in Boulder after busy careers ca-reers spent in the Las Vegas and southern California areas. She and Ray were married in 1949 in Lima, Ohio. They first became acquainted with Boulder when they visited Vernon Spencer in Escalante, the missionary who had converted them to the LDS Church in 1951. They are parents of five grown children, David, a corporate attorney for Toshiba in Carlsbad, Calif.; Mark, a naturopathic doctor at Boulder City, Nev.; Jonathon specialist spe-cialist weldermachinist at Paradise, Tex.; Mary, in banking management, manage-ment, Boulder City, Nev.; and Matthew who is in military intelligence intelli-gence at Sacramento, Calif. Talented and versatile, Jeanne Harshman was involved in the travel industry for some 10 years, creating, organizing and successfully success-fully marketing tours around the world. She has produced and hosted television travel shows and radio talk shows. She has lectured at conventions and on cruise ships around the world, and represented the state of Nevada in Guatamala and Costa Rica on international travel affairs. s ' ' I ' ' - : - - ;i- 1 Jeanne Harshman She has also been active in little theater productions and has produced, pro-duced, directed and performed numerous nu-merous productions. She and her husband operated a health food store in Boulder City, Nev. for several years. Her interests beyond her family include health foods and travel and the cultural arts. She is currently volunteering as a music teacher for grades 1-6 at Boulder Elementary and plans to take the students to see Nutcracker in Las Vegas. She has been getting acquainted with her Boulder neighbors and welcomes the opportunity to write about people and activities of the community. |
