Show Albrecht Named As New Garkane General Manager The Board of Directors of Garkane Power Association, Inc., during their regular meeting held Monday July 26, 1993 at the Pincwoods Resort on Cedar Mountain, Moun-tain, appointed former Garkane Assistant As-sistant Manager, Carl R. Albrecht, as the Cooperative's new General Manager effecuve immediately. Albrecht had been the Acting General Manager since June 1, 1993, when Glen P. Willardson retired. re-tired. Albrecht has worked at the utility since January 1974 in various vari-ous capacities including Administrative Adminis-trative Assistant, Office Manager and Assistant Manager. M. LaDon Torgcrsen, President of the Garkane Board of Directors, indicated that Albrecht was chosen from a field of over 60 applicants in a nationwide search. "Hiring a General Manager is one of the most important responsibilities respon-sibilities a Board of Directors will ever have," said Torgersen. "As Directors, Di-rectors, we spent numerous hours reviewing resumes and qualifications qualifica-tions to ensure the most capable individual in-dividual was selected, someone whom we felt would provide strong leadership and vision to the organization." organi-zation." Albrecht, 41, is a native of Bicknell, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and graduated from Stevens Hcnager Business College and Southern Utah University. Univer-sity. He has served as a Richfield City Councilman, Planning Commission Com-mission member, and is presently Vice President of the Sevier School Board and a Trustee for the Utah High School Activities Association. He is a member of the Richfield Rich-field District BLM Advisory Board, and is active in church and civic assignments as-signments having served 10 years in the Sevier Jeep Posse and a youth coach in the Softball, basketball basket-ball and baseball programs. Albrecht is married to the former Gail Wood of Delta, Utah and has three children. Garkane Power Association provides pro-vides electricity to 6,700 member consumes over 1700 miles of power lines in six South Central Utah counties and two counties in Northern Arizona. |
