Show Record Visitation At Bryce Canyon Bryce Canyon National Park had a record number of visitors for the month of February. There were 10,894 recreational visitors in the park for the month, an increase of 44 percent over February of 1990. Campground use was up 110 percent per-cent for the same period. Unseasonably warm, dry weather contributed to the substantial increase in-crease in visitation. There were no major storms during the month, continuing a pattern that began in January. The increase in park visitors continues the trend of the last decade of ever-growing numbers of people visiting the park. In addition addi-tion to an increase in the numbers of private vehicles, the number of bus tours was also up. An increase in the number of foreign visitors was also noted. With the approach of the springtime spring-time the Visitor Center hours have been extended, as of March 10, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. |
