Show If fiREfi OBITOfaRIES j IS J Metta Schow Johnson PANGUITCH Metta Schow Johnson, 79, Panguitch, died June 20, 1992 in a Panguitch hospital. She was bom October 11, 1912 in Panguitch to Ira Christian and Mary Jane Evans Schow. She married mar-ried Parley Henderson Johnson on June 4, 1937 in Panguitch. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on September 10, 1945. She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life and involved in-volved in many civic affairs. She always helped anyone in need and saw humor in all aspects of life and will be remembered for that tremendous tremen-dous sense of humor. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Robert Johnson, Green River, Wyo. and John Johnson, Monroe; nine grandchildren and one i sister, Vera Wilcock, Panguitch. Funeral services were held on j Tuesday, June 23, 1992 at the Pan- j guitch 3rd Ward LDS Chapel with j Bishop James H. Hatch officiating j and both prelude and postlude music i provided by Irene McEwen. i Following the family prayer by ! Wallace G. Lee, the services were opened with an invocation by Delin ! Roundy. An organ and violin duet i was performed by Barbara Orton and Irene McEwen with tributes by Metta Jane Whittaker and Hilda Gardner. LaNita Myers ORLAND, CA. LaNita Stout i Quilter Myers, 57, died in her home in Orland, Calif., following a battle j with cancer. i She was bom on Oct. 15, 1934, to George and Nell Wilson, Tropic. She attended high school in Tropic. She married LaRen Quilter in June 1951. He died in Dec. 1953. She later married Ernest W. Myers on Dec. 5, 1954. She was an active member of the LDS Church, participating in music throughout her 18 years in Orland, Calif. She held offices in all auxiliaries of her Orland Ward and most recently served as semi-j semi-j nary teacher. Her favorite pastimes j included making afghans, doing i beadwork and various crafts, j Survivors include her husband, j Orland,- Calif.; seven children: ! Craig LaRen Quilter, Bobbie Thomdike, Raymond Myers, Mrs. Bruce (Kathleen) Smith and Holly i Myers, all of Orland; W. Dale j Myers, Willows, Calif.; Mrs. Clee ! (Peggy) Pearson, Ogden; and 20 i i 1 A Metta Schow Johnson Fern Crawford spoke, followed by remarks from Bishop James H. Hatch and a vocal duet sung by Jim and Than Cooper, accompanied by Kathleen Cooper. Russell Bulkley provided the benediction while Larry Whitaker offered the final dedicatory prayer at the gravesite. Interment was in the Panguitch Cemetery with all arrangements handled by Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary in Richfield. LaNita Myers grandchildren. Services were held on June 17, 1992 at the Orland Ward Chapel with burial at the Orland Cemetery. |
