Show - ,v. I ...... I . , J II s j It's hard to tell who's proudest, dad Lanny Littlefield or son Darryl Littlefield. They graduated June 14 at Life Chiropractic Chiroprac-tic College in Oakland, Calif, and will practice together. i Father And Son Graduate Chiropractic College A father and son, both with strong ties to Tropic, have graduated gradu-ated as chiropractors in the same class at Life Chiropractic College at Oakland, Calif., and will go on to set up practice together at Lafayette, La. Lanny Littlefield, 46 and his son Darryl, 27, have been a tough-to-beat team for many years. Darryl Dar-ryl played football under his dad's coaching for several years. He was his dad's star quarterback when both were at Preston High School. Darryl was twice named all-state there. He went on to play football at Snow College, then at College of Eastern Utah where Lanny coached until the college dropped football and Darryl suffered a knee injury that ended not only his football career but a promising career ca-reer in professional baseball. Lanny also coached at Southern University at Baton Rouge, La. where, when he was assistant coach, his football team captured a national championship. In his 17-year 17-year coaching career, his teams captured cap-tured 11 division championships, three state championships, and he was named "Coach of the Year" four times. Along the way, he taught biology, biol-ogy, and earned his masters in physical phys-ical education and health. He had minored in zoology when earning his bachelors degree at Southern Utah State College, and he had always al-ways maintained an interest in physical well-being and good nutrition. nu-trition. When Darryl's career in sports appeared to be ended, it seemed to be ume for a change of course, and a serious talk with a respected chiropractor chi-ropractor gave both Lanny and Darryl some new direction in their lives. They entered Life Chiropractic Chiro-practic College together in Oakland Oak-land in 1988 and graduated together to-gether June 14. "I loved coaching," Lanny said, "but I haven't missed it a bit be- cause I've found my new career so exciting." Lanny and his wife Gloria have three other sons, Scott 22, Eddie 17, and Lanny, Jr., 15. Lanny attended at-tended elementary school in Tropic briefly, and graduated from Basic High School in Henderson, Nev. Darryl is married to the former Wendy Huntington of Castle Dale. They have a daughter, Cambrie 3 and a son Landon 1. Darryl spent his freshman year at Bryce Valley High School before moving to Preston, Pre-ston, Ida. Lanny and Darryl are son and grandson respectively of Norm and Clella Littlefield of Tropic. |
