Show Fire At Kings Creek Started By Fireworks BRYCE A fire just south of Kings Creek Campground on Saturday Sat-urday pointed up the danger of fireworks fire-works under maximum growth-tinder growth-tinder dry conditions. The fire, which was determined to have been started by the illegal use of fireworks on the Dixie National Na-tional Forest. Under the law, fireworks are strictly prohibited in national forest areas. The fire was reported about 4 p.m. to the campground hosts at the campground where two family reunions were taking place. While some 15 campers tried to control the fire, the campground hosts reported re-ported it to the Forest Service. Responding were five fire fighters fight-ers from Bryce, an engine from Duck Creek, and another from Panguitch. Pan-guitch. They were assisted by Cindy Taylor Trucking which supplied sup-plied a water truck. USFS representative repre-sentative Kim Soper reported that it took nearly two days to fully extinguish extin-guish the fire. |
