The weather reports are predicting a wet November followed by a dry and warmer than usual December and January. The elementary school observed "Red Ribbon Week" in a number of ways. To stress "Students Against Drugs" officer Kent Robinson observed students all week, making note of good behavior and politeness. Then as part of the Red Ribbon Day celebration, he drew three names of those good citizens. Selected were Josh Fringcr, second grade and Kelsey Porter, kindergarten who were both awarded T-shirts and Flint Chynoweth, fourth grade who received a police cap. Ninety-eight percent of the students wore red that day and there were winners for the candy-counting contest from the day before. Grandparents also came to class for Grandparents Day. Ross and Nadine Shelley were in Tempe, Ariz, recently visiting daughter and son-in-law Holly and Dave Hatch and new baby Jocee. Betty R. Alvey took Iona Alvey to St. George for cataract surgery. Iona is convalescing at her daughter's home, Arvon Whittaker, who is also recovering from surgery. Betty visited with sons Frank and Tony Alvey in St. George.
