Saliva Sisters To Highlight Garfield County Fair Days Three main events will highlights high-lights this year's Garfield County Fair set to start on Tuesday. The annual Miss Garfield County Scholarship Pageant is set for Thursday evening at 7 at the new Bryce Valley High School auditorium in Tropic. Five hopefuls have been practicing their talents, their interviews and their modeling techniques for the competition. Admission will be $3 per person. On Friday night, Salt Lake City's favorite sister act, the uproariously funny singingdancing trio the Saliva Sisters whose crazy songs, crazier dancing and craziest antics appeal to a large audience will appear at the Social Hall in Panguitch at 8 p.m., with a dance to follow their performance. Saturday night's dance to Stampede is set for the Fairgrounds building following all the day's festivities. Garfield County's "Fair Days" will begin with Tuesday's annual Junior Livestock Show at 9 a.m. Exhibits must be entered between 7 and 9 a.m., with swine, beef and lamb judging at 9:30 and breeding classes judging at 10:30. On Wednesday, all exhibits except fresh fruits, vegetables and live flowers may be entered between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. A Cookout King and Chili Contest will be held that evening at 6:30 at the fairgrounds. Miss Garfield County 1992 will be crowned Thursday night at the annual pageant, set for 7 p.m. at the new Bryce Valley High School auditorium in Tropic. Fresh fruits, vegetables and live flowers should be. entered on Friday between 9 and 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds where the annual Junior Horse Show is set for 9. The exhibits will be open to the public at the fairgrounds building from 1 until 6 p.m., with clowns and entertainment A variety of 4-H demonstrations are set for 2 p.m. Family entertainment featuring the Saliva Sisters is scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. at the Social Hall. On Saturday, poultry, fowl and small animals should be entered at 9 a.m. The livestock show and displays are set for 10 a.m., with the exhibits and midway opening at 10 where admission is free. The pet show will start at 2 p.m. and a talent contest and fashion show at 3. Exhibits should be picked up at 5 p.m. Saturday's activities will conclude con-clude with the annual commissioners' commis-sioners' barbecue dinner at 5:30, more family fun with the team horse pulling contest at 7:30 and a dance at 9 at the fairgrounds building. |
