Show " j JUST STUFF BY JAM We sat and watched the leaves fall golden circles fluttering like colored snow flakes in the breeze, making a f irey carpet below. Fall is such a beautiful time of year. It is a myriad of colors oranges, yellows and reds contrasting the vivid blue eky. Every year the leaves seem to change earlier than the year before, and every year we check the log at Fishlake and find that the colors change the same time, almost to the day, every year. But when you're in the midst of summer, with sun and swimming on your mind, it's hard to admit that fall, that harbinger of winter is just around the corner. But Fall is more than a changing of colors. The air is so clear and crisp with just a hint of frost that tickles your nose. There's the familiar scent of just bottled relish and sauces wafting from the kitchen and the smell of freshly cut wood drifting in the woods. Fall is here, and will be gone about as quickly as it came, ushering winter and the changes it brings. The trees will shake the leaves from their branches and they'll glide gently to the ground, shivering in the breeze, leaving the naked branches to wave in winter. |
