Mr. and Mrs. Steven Johnson came from Leeds to assist mother, Bernice in bottling pears before going to Boulder Mountain for camping. The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Bryce (Colleen) Cottam came from Hiko, Nev. to spend the weekend with grandparents, the Rodney Cot tarns. Mr. and Mrs. Chad (Carolyn) Rappleye stopped on their way through to see the Blaine Lymans. The Rappleye s have a six-month-old son, for a total of three girls and two boys. They now live in Delta where Chad is employed with the Intermountain Power Project. Kim Bernardo and sons, Kale and Beau have moved to Circleville, to be nearer her fiance who is a truck driver. Some improvements are being made around town. The home of Mr. and Mrs, Karl (Anne) Spencer has been bricked. Landscaping at the Dan Spencer home has given it, a finishing touch. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Venuti have poured a cement basketball court and driveway at their home, and the Crigler's have a new garage started. Accidents have been prevalent this week. Jason Porter, small son of Natalie Porter, fell and broke his arm. Tiffany Reynolds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reynolds received stitches after cutting her hand In a school door, and Justin Marsh was hit in the head with a swing. Recently, Brent Spencer was injured at the sawmill when a steel pipe struck him in the forehead requiring stitches. He was beginning to recover and had returend to work when a second accident occurred. A board kicked back and broke his right forearm. "Hang in there, everyone, Friday the 13th is not overl" Rick Hecke, oldest son of Mr, and Mrs. Ervin Smith has employment with the Forest Service and is living with the Smiths. Four of their children are in Tucson. Danny Smith is completing a masters degree there in education with specialties in English and computer science, George Smith has unlisted in the armed forces and will begin 'boot-training' May 1st. Kirsten is attending school there and living with her elder sister, Pam. Some of the school teachers attended a three-part workshop on Drug and Alcohol which wa3 held in Bryce Valley over the weekend. The Woolseys have been moving. Weldo Woolsey is living in Far-mington where ho is employed on an oil well. Brother, Jimmy Woolsey has purchased the house he for b merly had, formerly known as fhe : k.WUliam Mitchell home, and nepheW f 1 Tony Coleman has bought Jimmy's trailer. Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Keri) Woolsey returned from a fishing trip in Canada. They had an enjoyable time and brought back the fish to prove it. The Stanley Listons returned from Phoenix where Stan had a checkup. It is nice to report that all went extremely well. Louise Mounteer is home with daughters, Carol Myrna, Marva and Peggy. Marva will stay this week as she has vacation time from her employment. Son, Paul Mounteer and wife now have four children, two boys and two girls their last being a 4-month-old daughter, Louise will be able to stay home for six months before a checkup. Baptismal services were held for Jamie Griffin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quinn (Doneen) Griffin with a large group of the family present. The Griffin's celebrate "ice cream and cake day" in their family as Jamie's birthday is shared by aunt, Brenda Griffin and cousin, Clayton Carter. Parley Coleman is convalescing in St, George with the help of daughters, Joy Renck, CIo. Walker and Fern Johnson. Chuck Wayne is home and doing very nicely, too. Vernile Griffin recently underwent surgery in Salt Lake City and Lucille Cowles returned for her checkup. : 1 lAll of the children of Mr, and Mrs. LoRell'Mdn4i 'assembled 'in Salt Lake City4 for the blessing of Maurene's infant son, Garrett Ford Nelson. Son, Daryl brought his family from California and met with the group. This is the first time in seven years that all of the family were together. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (Evan) Schow accompanied daughter Karen Fink to St. George to locate an apartment and register for fall quarterat Dixie College. Son, Ronald Schow was recently married to Sharon Sue Morris. They now live.in Casper, Wyoming and manage a cafe. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith (Betty) Alvey traveled to Salt Lake City this past weekend for the wedding of Vivian Roundy's son, Glen. Glen exchanged vows with Sharon Lloyd, daughter of the late Jay Lloyd, president of KSL who paised away early last week. Wife, Betty will get together with her brothers and sisters while there. |
