Show Escalante Lucille Cowles Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kuhns hosted a dinner for 16 at Foster's Steak House to celebrate the 81st birthday of Ruth Pieroth. Janalee Spencer and Jackie Woolsey also went to dinner at Foster's to celebrate Janalee's graduation from beauty school. Bernard Schow took his wife, Sherrie, to Salt Lake City where she was scheduled for a tonsillectomy. Sheree Spencer, wife of the late Lael Spencer left for an LDS mission to California. Garneal Smith and daughter Tina Smith were In Parowan to visit Iris Porter, then on to St. George on business. Dane Smith who only recently returned home from the Navy is attending school in Provo. Hal Shurtz is still under doctor's care for his back. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Griffin moved to Cedar City so that he can attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Porter were here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Vergean Porter. Vergean and boys got in some fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Smith Alvey went to Salt Lake City to babysit their grandchildren while daughter Linda and her husband Jay Stokes went to Park City. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Griffin went north to visit their daughter Nickie who has been ill. Mr. and Mrs. Arlis Brooks and Darrel Alvey went to Denver to the horse races and also attended the dog races. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Haycock went north to be with Neta's mother who suffered a stroke. Fay Alvey took Lillie Spencer to Salt Lake City to visit her children while Fay went on to Idaho to accompany her daughter Renea and husband Sherman through the temple. Hilda Roundy and Deon Alvey were in Salt Lake City on business. Barbara Munson went to Sait Lake City to attend a Mary Kay Cosmetics convention. Visiting Mayor and Mrs. Mohr Christensen was Mrs. Christensen's brother, Ya Han Kim, and his wife who have been in Germany. They all enjoyed a luau. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Griffin were in town, he to work on the transformer, she to close the house for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Cowles were in Panguitch on business where they also visited the Claud LeFevres. |
