Show Boulder News LeNora LeFevre The Mid Contenant Drilling Co. of Texas arrived the last week in July. After a year of negotiation they have permission to drill at the Carbon Dioxide site located at Sand Creek on the west side of the Boulder Mountain. This site is eight miles north of Salt Gulch, sixteen miles west of Boulder, and near Escalante. The Corn Construction Co. of Grand Junction, Colo, was awarded the contract to oil the eight miles of dirt road which will connect the oiled highway around the east end of the Boulder Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Moosman of Orem visited with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Moosman. Doyle Moosman went to West Valley to the IDS mission farewell for granddaughter Sandra Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allen. Sandra will enter the mission home August 9th then will go to Capetown, Africa. Doyle also went to Ogden to see Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Moosman and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Coleman and other relatives and friends. Genevieve Weir of Penn. is on a two week vacation and will spend time with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Haws, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Poulson, Golda Haws, and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Jepsen. All these folks went to Richfield for the Frank Haws reunion Mr. and Mrs. Keven Gardner and baby of Salt Lake City and Carol Gardner of St. George are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gardner. The Behunin reunion was held at Capitol Reef National Monument. Mr. and Mrs. Max Behunin, Mr. and Mrs. Scot McDonald and Scot Jr. and Shannon, Montrose, Colo, came and returned to Boulder with Twila's parents, the Max Behunins. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Church attended the Church reunion held at Cedar City. Then went to Snowflake, Arizona to attend Ida's 50th class reunion. This was followed by two Smith reunions. Their eight children and families were there. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Whitmer, Arizona; Dr. and Mrs. Monte Mclaws, Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Flaherty, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Church, Spokane, Wash, and most of their children are here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Church. Maud DeMille and Lucile Larsen, St. George visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mac LeFevre. Bill Winters came after his wife Kathlene and daughter Laura. He retired from the Air Force after twenty eight years of duty and has employment with T Airlines of Las Vegas. 5 Elaine Roundy has daughters Claudia and Camille and a friend home for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Dell LeFevre were in Salt Lake City attending meetings which concerned Garfield County. Golda Haws is in Midvale with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Haws and children Candance and Ryan flew to New York on a week's vacation. Helen Lyman is teaching a two week course on "The Writing Road to Reading", to students in Escalante beginning on Monday, August 6. |
