Show Visits Up At Bryce In December BHYCE CANYON - Bryce Canyon National Park recorded a 33 percent increase In visitation for December. The 10,300 visits during the month brought visitation for the year to 695,000, a 1 percent decrease compared with last year. According to Supt. Bob Benton, the decline in the year's visits was a result of the publicity given to the flooding problems in other areas of the state. But Benton noted that visits have shown a strong uptrend during the last half of the year and he expects 1984 to be an extremely good year for visitation. Bryce Canyon is open all year. All major roads, and overlooks are plowed. There are excellent opportunities to cross-country ski and snowshoe in the park. Snowshoes are available for free day use at the park visitor center, and cross-country skis may be rented at nearby businesses. Motels and restaurants near the park are open all winter. |
