Show fiREfi OBITUARIES ) Mark Be ten sen Mark Betensen CIRCLEVILLE - Joseph Mark Tennyson Betenson, 69, Circleville, a member of the Piute County Commission, died Feb., 25, 1983, in a Panguitch hospital. He was born Sept. 8, 1914, Circleville, to Joseph A. and Lula Christina Parker Betensen. He married Vivian Brinkerhoff Dec. 23, 1939, Coalville. He owned and operated his own ranch for many years. At the time of his death, he was completing his third year as a member of the Piute County Commission. Survivors: wife, Circleville; daughter, Mrs. Edward (Linda) Miller, Prescott, Ariz.; three grandchildren; great-grandchild; brothers, sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Pauline) Applegate, Scott, both Kanab; John, Circleville; Mrs. Lee (Barbara) Carlson, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Circleville Second Ward chapel. Friends may call at the chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Circleville Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richield. A. L. Elmer ST. GEORGE Arthur L. He married Elizabeth Simmons, June 28, 1929, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He taught school in Elsinore and . Antimony. He was owner of A. L. ,' Elmer Co., in Panguitch. He was a member of the Utah State School , Board and president of the Garfield County School Board. He had served as bishop of the , Panguitch North Ward; president, ' Panguitch LDS Stake; president, Panguitch Lions Club and deputy district Lions governor. He was president of the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce; president, In-termountain Hardware Dealers Assn.; member of Five County Organization. He moved to St. George in 1965 where he served as executive secretary of the St. George Chamber of Commerce. He filled an 18-month LDS mission with his wife to Boston, Mass. He has been a temple worker in St. George. Survivors: wife, St. George; son, Gerald Lee, Lompac, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Allen (Joann) Miller, Panguitch; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, E. Leon, sister, Edith Kay, ; both Orem. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. George Sixth Ward chapel where friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Graveside services will be in Payson at 5 p.m. that afternoon under the direction of Neal S. Magleby and Sons, Mortuary, Richfield. "Neta" Shirts ESCALANTE - Loneta "Neta" Hall Shirts, 80, Excalante, died Feb. 22, 1984, in Cedar City. She was born May 28, 1903, Escalante, to Amos W. and Lovina Griffin Hall. She was married to Morris Shirts, June 15, 1921, Manti LDS Temple. She served in the LDS Church auxiliaries, including Sunday School and Relief Society. She served as a teacher in the public schools and LDS seminary program. She was a member of the Garfield County Welfare Board for 36 years. Survivors: husband, Escalante; son, daughters, Morris Alpine, Cedar City; Mrs. Ross (Nadine) Anderson, Orem; Mrs. J. Arthur (Carol Joy) Cooper, Argyle, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Mary Alice Wright Hall, St. George; brother, sisters, Deward Hall, St. George; Mrs. Lodema Gates, Layton; Mrs. Emma Bleak, Las Vegas. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Escalante Ward chapel with Bishop Gerald Johnson, officiating. Morris A. Shirts offered the family prayer and Areola Gates played prelude and postlude music. Ross Anderson offered the invocation. Speakers were Betty Alvey, Lorenzo Griffin, J. Arthur Cooper and Lynn H. Gates, Music included piano solo, Carol Joy Cooper; selection by the Escalante Singing Mothers and selection by Geraldine Liston, Marlene Haws and Deon Alvey. Russell Shirts offered the benediction. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where Deward Hall offered the dedicatory prayer. """" ffiftf?iM Delia Reynolds Delia Reynolds CIRCLEVILLE - Funeral services for Delia Barnson Reynolds were held Saturday in the Circleville First Ward chapel with Bishop Allen Maines, officiating. Lester LeRoy Barnson offered the family prayer and Brenda Robinson played prelude and postlude music. Deloy Dutton gave the invocation. Speakers were Mary Ella Sudweeks, Scott Smith and Nordell Dalton. Music included vocal duet by Charleen Dalton and Terecea Westwood; vocal duet by Brenda Robinson and Henry Blackwell and double trio by Sharon Whittaker, Ann Dalton, Mona Romine, Patricia Whittaker, Brenda Robinson and Mary Ella Sudweeks. Audan Seljass offered the benediction. Interment was in the Circleville Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where James Warren Reynolds offered the dedicatory prayer. Anna Pearson Anna Pearson CIRCLEVILLE Anna Pearson, 60, Circleville, died Feb, 27, 1984, in a Richfield hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1923, Beaver, to Rodney Elbert and Lucinda Rachel Anderson White. She was married to Harold E. Pearson, November, 1943,' Beaver; later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher and active in the Cub Scouts. Survivors; husband, Circleville; son, daughter, Mrs. Mike (Carma) Brindley, Circleville; Keith H., Las Vegas; four grandchildren; mother, Bountiful; sisters, Mrs. Beth Hut-chngs, North Salt Lake; Mrs. Ted (Wilma "Billie") Nowers, Kearns; Mrs. Virgil (Dorothy) Goodwin, Taylorsville. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Circleville Second Ward chapel where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Circleville Cemetery by Neal S.
