Show BLM Scoping Workshop "In Escalante ESCALANTE The Escalante High School lunchroom will be the site on March 8 at 7 p.m. for one of 12 workshop meetings set by the Bureau of Land Management. The series of meetings began Feb. 21 and have been scheduled throughout the state, The workshops have three major objectives. They are designed to discuss, record, and summarize, by priority, statewide issues and concerns that the Environmental Impact Statement team should address in the analysis of the proposed wilderness study areas and alternatives. They are designed to address diversity and they are meant to develop criteria and define additional alternatives that would meet the criteria that should be analyzed in the EIS. A scoping packet and workshop-style discussion groups will be used to facilitate public input. Individuals who have received the scoping packet in the mail are urged to bring the packet to the workshop they attend. Anyone desiring a scoping packet may request one by calling 524-3128 or by writing to State Director (U-933), Bureau of Land Management University Club Building, 136 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. |
