Show Sprinkler Systems Discussion Topic Sprinkler irrigation workshops at which ranchers and homeowners will have an opportunity to increase their knowledge of water management are scheduled in April. The seminars will prepare participants to utilize sprinkler systems for irrigating crops, vegetable gardens, ornamentals, and lawns. Information will be given on how to regulate water application and size of system for greater cost ef fectiveness. Richard E. Griffin, Utah State University Extension Service irrigation specialist, will conduct the seminars. Several company representatives will display sprinkler system components at the walk-in trade shows and give further tips on sprinkler installation to enhance consumer confidence in "do-it-yourself" experiences. Sponsored by Utah State University Extension, U.S. Soil Conservation Service, Community Schools, West Panguitch and New Escalante Irrigation Companies, Panguitch City, and Escalante City, the meetings will be offered as follows: Panguitch home owners, 7 p.m. on April 15 and April 17 at Panguitch Middle School; Panguitch area ranchers, 1 p.m. on April 7; for Escalante ranchers, 10 a.m. on April 16 and for Escalante home owners, 7 p.m. on April 6. Trade shows are set for April 9 at 10 a.m. in Escalante at Escalante High School and in Panguitch at 3 p.m. at Panguitch Middle School. Bryce Valley and Boulder residents are also invited to participate. There is no charge for the seminars. Griffin will be available for individual consultations at Escalante. High School on the afternoon of April 6 and on the morning of April 7 at the Extension Office in Panguitch at the courthouse according to Verl 'Matthews, Garfield County Extension Agent. |
