Show Floyd Sawyer HATCH - Floyd Sawyer, Roy, died February 5, 1982, at his home. He was born November 17, 1921 to Thomas and Beryl Rhoana Workman Sawyer, Hatch. He graduated from Garfield High School in Panguitch. He was a member of the LDS Church. He joined the Marines in 194 and served in most of the major battles of the Pacific during World War II. He was in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He worked at Hillfield for many years and in 1981, he retired after 34 years in government service. He married Bertha May (Penny) Peltier at Belllngham, Wash. Survivors: wife, son, daughters, Linda L. Vest, Clearfield; Floyd Thomas, Washington Terrace; Penny Sue (Mrs. Richard) Elmer, and Rebecca Ann, Roy, Utah; 10 grandchildren. Brothers, sisters: Nile and David, Hatch; Clifton, Ogden; Veota Wolley, Orem; Rhona Findlay, Kanab; Wanda Shakespear, Tropic; N a o mi Miller, Oklahaoma City, Okla.; Clara Palmer, Henderson, Nev. Funeral services will be held at the Meyer Funeral Home, Roy, Friday, 1 p.m. Burial will be in Mountain View of the Wasatch Cemetery. |
